RonJon TSX Splitter Kit concept! ** updated design, pg. 1 **

I just spoke to my supplier, We will be getting a carbon fiber covered ABS, indistinguishable from real CF, but it's less expensive and it's made from ABS.
We will be offering a CF material, and a primed ABS material ready for paint.
Here are some shots of the Accord kit already primed to give you an idea. Also a shot of the slightly revised front end. might make it with a few score lines to partially paint the kit body color with the CF or just leave it as full CF:

I don't think it will fit their cars without slight modifications. But if we can get a TSX with a sports bumper in the booth for a measuring session, I'd be able to confirm. Enough interest and preorders for the sports bumper, and we can most likely make a nice simple straight across diffuser for the sides and rear. I really want this to become a staple in our sales, and we will try to accommodate all the vehicles in the Acura stable.

Any updates on the wing spoiler and rear window roof spoiler?

Not bad but I think I liked the front of design A and B better still....
You should get some more 09-10 pictures on here ron...the majority of us don't have the redesign.
Any idea of what the under body kit will do to the ground clearance and how they will mount? Is it just double-sided tape or will drilling be needed?

ebay has those available in spades and I don't think we can compete with those prices from Asia. Some vehicles have roof spoilers that are harder to find, so we will be catering to those vehicles first.= (CL, 2G TL, 7G Accord).
More renders coming soon on the original 2G TSX, and the splitter will directly bolt onto the car in the front and sides with included hardware and 2x sided 3M tape. The rear spats will be only 3M tape and maybe bolts, we'll see when we get the car in the booth.
Ground clearance will be approximately 1.5" less. Holes will need to be drilled as far as I can tell, but the holes will be underneath the car, not visible from the street side. When we get the car, we'll really be able to answer these questions, but our intentions are not to make permanent modifications to he car that would still allow you to go back to stock if needed.

Thats cool, We will be getting a front and rear bumper in the booth to work with in the mean time, a car would only be needed for final test fits. I'm actually working with a sculptor in NY on the prototype, just need a TSX and a TL here in NY to work off of. Might end up getting the bumpers in NY, then shipping everything out in one shot to CA. Send me your vehicle and contact info: info@ronjonwheels.com

Pretty much the final. Now I just need to know if anybody cares enough for this kit at $480 for the front, sides and rears in a Carbon Fiber textured ABS plastic (looks indistinguishable from the real thing). Paint not required, comes with the hardware, ready to install. We can start right away, we are already building the TL urethane lip kit.

Im definitely interested in the front. Gotta wait till february since have to pay for tuition and books for now. gotta see how much i got left.

Ron, for that price I think this will be a huge hit

I'm waiting for some samples to arrive, but what i've been told, it's virtually indistinguishable from real CF. Now I might have to stand corrected, I just had a late teleconference meeting with my production manager, he told me the CF replica material is a little more expensive, but not by that much, maybe $100-$150 more, but we won't know until we see how big of a sheet we will need to make the full kit, and if we can make the whole six piece kit from a single sheet. But we will most definitely be making the $480 kit from ABS plastic prepped and primed a dark grey primer that doesn't need to be painted but will accept paint if needed. More info will be posted when it becomes available.

Wow you've got a winner there Ron. It was fun seeing the evolution of the kit--this is definitely the most polished design all around.
At that price I'm definitely very interested. Funds are not a problem here. If the final product looks good you can sign me up for sure.
The only piece I have concerns about is the rear spats. I don't see many cars around here with them. Got any pics?
Also, got any pics of how the CF would look on an CBP 09-10?

rj, i would also be interested.
btw, would you be providing an option to have the kit paint-matched, or will it be sold as-is? i have a 2010 pwp and i think the kit would look better paint-matched, unless i see some pictures to be sure.
also interested in the grille

As soon as we start and you see the thread that says we are taking preorders now. We will also be logging our progress with photos of the prototype being built and updates in the schedule.
So far the 3 optional finishes will be 1) prepped and primed ABS plastic, which can be installed as is for the $480 price and will accept paint. 2) we will offer a painted version for additional. 3) we will also offer a Carbon Fiber style ABS plastic material that can be installed as is, but will be slightly higher in price than the standard ABS prepped and primed material.
The grille I am iffy about because obviously Marcus from heeltoe is making one and I don't feel like two similarly styled grilles should be sold. We'll focus on our own products that are in need.
The latest design shown above is probably what we will go with. When the time comes to decide, we'll take a step back and make sure that the design is the best it can be given the limitations. Decklid spoiler and rear wing spoiler will aslo be explored when we get the car in the booth.
Great, just follow the new thread when it gets made. As for the rear spats, we really can't do much since it is a bolt on lower belt line style kit. To have the rear become a wrap around and not pick up where the sides leave off in terms of flow will make it look funny. But I promise, the kit will have a visual impact and look clean, def not ricey. IMO the CF will look best on the Crystal Black pearl because the slight contract of the grey CF will make it more noticeable. Pics coming as soon as the sample piece arrives.
Richt now, we are focusing on the 3 cars with the new TL in the lead, followed by the 2nd Gen TL and then this 2nd Gen TSX. WE will have to re-evaluate after we get progress with this car and see if the 1st Gen TSX is a good candidate for a splitter kit or a wrap around kit or anything for that matter.
