Road Noise

Hi Guys,

New to the forum.

I have an 07 Accord SE. It's a nice enough car, but i am looking at upgrading to either an 08 TL w/ navi or an 09 TSX tech.

I am curious for those of you out there, how quiet the TSX is on the road. I drive about 25-30K per year and need something good on the road.

Thanks
GC

Its neither good or bad for the price segment. Getting a better set of tires would certainly quiet things down. Hondas and most Acuras seem to be come equipped with rotten tires that are especially noisy.

IMHO, it is one of the quietest vehicle in its class. It is a bit quieter than the Mercedes C300 that i am driving as a loaner. I think that road noise is the LEAST of your concerns in the TSX. Wind noise is also very minimal.

I also average 30,000+miles a year on my 06 tsx and personally thought it was a quiet car with the OEM tires. I replaced them at 74,000 miles with the Yokohama Avids 4s which IMO are noisier. My car is going on 82,000 miles. Planning to replace it with either the TL if it ever gets the MT or a 2010 tsx next April. excellent cars, highly recommend it. My mom owns a 08 accord which I drive alot and I think the tsx is more comfortable for long distance driving.

There seems to be a little more road noise on gravel-ly roads than I would like, but on nice smooth roads, it's very quiet.

On bad roads, the handsfree link doesn't pick up very well.

gs1397, i have the same question (except i already own a tsx). according to edmunds.com, noise @ 70 mph Cruise is comparable to MBZ C350, but I definitely wouldn't mind it to be a bit more quieter on highway.

my experience w/ my tsx is it's slight quieter than a 2004 accord v6.
