removing wing spoiler

Has anyone had their wing spoiler removed? I'm planning on getting it donw this week but curious to know if I should be concerned about the potential of my trunk lid leaking.

^ Click on the installation instruction from Bernadi

There are three holes drilled on each side, they need to be plugged to prevent leakage. Are you putting anything on after removing the wing spoiler? The weather forecast is rain for the next 5 days in Vancouver.

I was planning on leaving it bare. I think I will prefer that look over the spoiler.

That is a lot of holes...I might have to wait until the summer to get this done.

Thanks for the info! Interested in a wing spoiler perhaps?

Does the decklid spoiler really cover the holes?

actually after looking through the install info, they drill much more holes than required for the decklid spoiler, im sorry OP, you are going to need a brand new car

the best route imo is to trade trunk lids with someone that wants the wing. post it in the black market

^ true ... it will be cheaper this way too, otherwise u will have to get a body shop to fill all the holes and repaint the trunk ... the only thing is if u swap trunks the VIN wont match

I found a shop 2 blocks from my place that agreed to remove the spoiler and re-paint the trunk lid for $300.

I'm picking it up tomorrow. Will post pics for those who want to see a comparison between the wing spoiler and no spoiler.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions

Great to hear, I think you will like the clean look without the wing spoiler.

I am another in the "I prefer the Deck Lid Spoiler over Wing" camp, especially after sitting in a TSX and noticing its visible in the back window, essentially cutting visibility down. I am curious to see how the body shop proposes to block the holes and paint it like new though.

dont think so,the deck lid spoiler is much smaller and doesnt go as far into the trunk as the wing
