Removing Front Grille

Hey what's up guys, found some info but wanted to know if it was possible to remove the entire grille without removing the bumper off the car... Want to get it paint matched along with my rear window spoiler and it be easier to just drop both things off at the shop then re install... I have a 2010... Any info is appreciated .. Rather avoid dropping the bumper if possible

I had to pull the whole bumper off to get the grille off when I wanted to wrap it.... I didn't see any other way.

Why are you resisting the removal of the bumper.

Just asking.

Yes its a pita. Yes it takes time. Probably be doing it twice if you plan on driving.

But its necessary evil.

Ask around for a loaner grille that you coukd send out.

PM the Atlp grille or jdm 09-10 owners for a loaner. $25 shipping each way and viola/

Find telephone pole.
Wrap chain around pole and thread it through grille
Get in car
Start car
Put car in reverse
Step on gas pedal
Put car in park.
Get out of car
Pick up grille. Remove chain

Simple. To remove the whole bumper is equally easy. Find a parking block that is higher than the bottom of your bumper (very easy to do if your car is lowered).

Drive over parking block until front wheels touch block. Don't pay any attention to that scaping sound - it is merely prepping your bumper for removal.

Back up quickly.
Pick up bumper from ground.

Whaaaaat???? Your car doesn't have "Park?"

You're screwed, you'll never get the bumper or grille off.

BTW - Mods - these instructions need to be a sticky.

Back on topic - I think it is far easier (and far less bloody) to take the bumper off. Just spread a blanket under the bumper as you are working with it to catch any loose screws and to keep the bumper from getting scratched once removed.

Wash the car before you start this work.

i think you're the one that needs a blanket under you cause you've got a few screws loose. the only 2 screws related to the front bumper are in the wheel well, and if you drop those, you were probably dropped

Nuts! Screws, clips, retaining rings, chewing gum - something is holding the bumper on and something can be dropped. Maroon!

its not that he is letting loose and being more irrational. his age has caused him to forget how to be rational and since we're ending our posts with colors, VIOLET
