Rear License Plate Screws
Does anyone know the size of the license plate screws for the rear? Just got a cover/frame, and wanted to use all 4 holes vs 2 (that's what she said-Michael Scott, sorry guys).
I have just 2 that were on the car when I bought it, but have a kit for the front license plate, not sure if the other 2 screws will fit for the bottom portion. They are actual screws versus bolts. Thanks.

The top two screws on the rear are threaded, and they are M6-1.0. The bottom two are sheet metal screws that go into plastic inserts, and they are #12.

Can you elaborate on the #12, what ther specs are there for me to buy. I have a bag of screws for a front license plate mount but don't need one in Florida. Thought some of these screws would work but not sure.

#12 is the thickness, they can also come in #8, #10, #14 etc. I think all 4 screws for the front were the same #12, so if you have those you should be good to go.

I went back to dealer and they gave me some for free, since it was brand new. THey said maybe their PDI guys forget to put them with the car. I think they are 5 x 4. Dealer had them though, but I think I need longer ones since my license plate cover adds some length.
Although I will say it looks sick, I got a chrome trim plate with a smoked out cover. Looks good on my all black car.

Actually, I think I was wrong. I am looking at 9 the bags of screws/washers I bought. The sheet metal screws for the back I think are #10. The front plate's sheet metal screws are #12. The bolts for the top of the rear plate are still M6-1.0.
No idea what he meant by 5 x 4. Sheet metal screws will be labeled something like #12 x 3/4" (3/4" being the length of the screw)
Just go to ACE or home depot and they will know what that means. Or just look at all the boxes of screws.

Cruisin'
M6-1.00 worked for me
2008 TL-S
All 4 rear screws, top two (into female threaded nut) and bottom two (in to machined inserts) were done with the M6-1.00. All went in smooth and proper.
Just FYI to reiterate as it was getting a little unclear.
It's possible the inserts in the bottom were not factory but that's what they were when I bought it used. M6-1.00 all around.
