Rear bumper options for 2012 TSX
Looking to make a few mods to the 2012 tsx.
4 cy, Navi & auto if matters
Anyone know how well this fits or looks?
09 14 TSX 4DR JDM Rear Bumper Lip Urethane | eBay
Also any idea on what else fits. Seems many kits don't fit the 2012.
Any of these work?
A spec?
Special Edition?
Sport bumper?
If so anyone know where they can be obtained. Did a bit of searching and can't find the above 3 parts?
Thanks,

Is this basically the same look as adding the JDM part above?
Just a full oem rear bumper?
Will it bolt right up to regular 2012 tsx?

So, the base rear bumper, A-Spec/SE/Type-S rear bumper, Sport/Aero/Modulo rear bumper should all fit your car.
A-Spec/SE/Type-S are all the same thing. They're just named differently in different markets.
Sport/Aero/Modulo are all the same thing. They're just named differently in different markets.
To answer your original question. That eBay kit is not OEM. It is a polyurethane lip that attaches to the BASE rear bumper cover, to make it look like the SE rear bumper cover. IMO, it looks like trash. The first picture of the 3 on eBay (of the red TSX) is a REAL SE rear bumper cover. The lip will NOT make your car look like that.

Base:
A-Spec/Special Edition/Type-S:
Modulo/Sport/Aero:
(I know the plate says Type S, but this is a Modulo rear bumper)
eBay:
(notice the ugly lines compared to the OEM SE rear bumper)

Itz JDM y0!
Ya Acura doesn't sell painted Rear/Front bumpers for some reason. The SE bumper will have to be painted. What color is your car? If it's white or red I think the modulo looks best, but if it's black I would go SE since the modulo won't contrast.

WOW...Thanks for the detailed input!
The car is black, and i can get painted pretty easily here at buddies shop!
I do like the look of that modulo, but that is shown on a honda right and appears the top back corners are more rounded than on a tsx? Is that why you think it wont contrast as good on black?
So are these very similiar to the modulo? Any idea on quality here too?

The Acura TSX is a Honda Accord Euro in most places outside North America (also known as the Honda Spirior in China). They're the same chassis/body. So basically, the picture of that modulo is indeed a TSX, just with a Honda badge.

Part number depends on colour, but all of them start with 08P02-TL2-. Black should be 08P02-TL2-2B0B
You can find the Modulo rear at Acura dealerships. You can also order them online from popular dealerships such as Delray (Acura Parts @ AcuraOEMparts.com - Genuine Acura OEM Parts from Delray Acura) and Curry (www.curryacuraparts.com).
For Curry, their site isn't the greatest and might not have the bumper shown. Give them a call and tell them what you're looking for. I bought my Modulo side skirts from Curry Acura even though I couldn't find them on the site.
FYI, it's known as the Sports bumper in the US. They might not know what you're talking about if you say "Modulo rear bumper".

ok, so do you think either will look off on the car if I only get the rear done?
If i do decide to go with the front or side what options do I have to keep stock 2012 grill and add front?

Modulo side skirts come painted as well. There are also SE side skirts, but those don't come painted. I don't even know the part number to those as the dealer might not sell them to you.
Modulo side skirts (single part number that includes both sides):
08F04-TL2-2B0 SPOILER, SIDE UNDER BODY *NH731P*
( CRYSTAL BLACK PEARL )
For front, only upgrade you can do is get the SE front under body spoiler if you want to retain the 11+ grille and fogs.
As far as I know, there are two part numbers, one for the piece on each side.
71110-TL0-G90ZE SPOILER ASSY., R. FR. BUMPER *NH731P*
( CRYSTAL BLACK PEARL )
71180-TL0-G90ZE SPOILER ASSY., L. FR. BUMPER *NH731P*
( CRYSTAL BLACK PEARL )
There might be a single "part number" that includes both pieces. Check with the dealer.

Ok, I am leaning toward the front lips, a spec rear.
For the side skirts will the modulo side skirts flow well with the a spec lips and rear bumper

lol my car has a bit of everything at the moment
I have the SE front lip, modulo side skirts, base rear. I'll likely get the modulo rear some time in the future. Just not this year as I spent too much already
Front/side shot with SE front underbody spoiler, no side skirts (have front mud guards):
Attachment 103855
Rear shot with SE front underbody spoiler (not that you can see them), modulo side skirts, and base rear:
Attachment 102537
Front shot with SE front underbody spoiler, modulo side skirts, and a front windshield molding coming off :
Attachment 103856
Honestly, I like the look of the front SE underbody spoiler with the modulo side skirts. I'm just itching for the modulo rear now. I do want to do the modulo front too but it's a bit more troublesome and costly for an 11+.

Real nice!
With the front lips and side skirts...do they use stock holes and hardware or do you need to drill or buy any extra. Looks like with the front lip there might be one or two extra bolts
Are those VDM rims? Your sig says WORK? old??

Those wheels were on last season. VMR V710. I have a new setup for this season (Works).
When I purchased my front under body spoiler, it came with the needed hardware. The only "modification" I had to do was tap a couple of self-tapping screws into the bottom part of the fender lip to hold the front lip in place from the outside. This is part of the OEM installation instruction, so it's nothing custom.
For the side skirts, for the most part I just used whatever that came in the box. The only exception here was I also used some touch up paint because in one step it asks you to cut a bit of the undercoating off of the car so that you could install a clip and bolt. After cutting some of the undercoating and before installing the clip/bolt, it said in the instructions to touch it up to prevent potential rusting/corrosion.
I did not need to drill or buy anything extra, aside from some touch up paint, and some isopropyl alcohol + microfiber towel to clean the areas you're working on.

Curry Acura. I was told by some friends to say I'm from tsxclub and they'd get me a better price. Don't actually know if that made a difference or not lol. Give them a call and ask for John. He's the Parts & Accessory Manager.
Also get a price from Delray Acura to see if that's cheaper.

Dude
I called park acura in ohio, acurapartwarehouse (they ship from georgia) and curry acura in upstate NY.
Curry acura had it for $507, and park and acura parts warehouse had it for 371.
They said the shipping quote on the website is wrong since it doesn't take into account for it being an oversized item and that they'll alter the shipping rate after you place the order. Since i was in PA, they said that shipping for me could be as high as $100.
I think i'm going to order skirts from Park Acura in Akron, Ohio since they have it in stock for my color (not sure about your color).
edit: i just got off the phone with delray acura in florida (skirts for $380) and the parts guy never mentioned anything about oversized shipping rates, so i'm not sure if the website's $33 shipping rate is correct - i doubt it's correct. they don't have the parts in stock though for my color and would take a week for them to get it before shipping it out.

well Akron OH is only about 2.5 hr drive for me if shipping is outrageous.
let me know where you end up!
I'd rather pay $30-50 for ship than drive 5 hrs round trip. But $100 ship, ill drive!

^^^I did not but their prices are consistent with their site. The major considering factor on where you buy from would be shipping as it varies greatly pending on your location with theirs.
I'm waiting for an exhaust before i buy the rear bumper cover. I'm ordering the skirts on Monday since i won't have a free weekend for at least 3 weeks to install and in that time, i'll be making more calls for best price.

Update for skirt shipping cost: so i placed the order with park acura and it'll cost $125 to ship it to me from them (in akron, ohio) to my parent's place in south central PA; ouch.
I have 5 days to decide whether i want to go through with it or not before they refund and cancel my order. That's about $500 shipped; i just wished my local acura dealers sold the part for cheaper instead of the msrp of $507.

Even if they can't fully match the price, if the can make it cheaper than getting it shipped then you'll save some headaches.
Might be worth a shot.

Dude
I actually had a drink(s) - Glenlivet 12 YO - last night while paying bills and impulsively ordered the front sport bumper along with the skirts from DCH Acura in Temecula, CA. Prices were roughly the same as to what i've been seeing (367 for skirt and 560 for front bumper) but shipping came out to be a reasonable $125 considering it's coming from the west coast to me in PA and they're huge pieces. But we'll see if the shipping charges holds.
However, if i can get my dealer to price match, then i'll promptly cancel that order from DCH.
