Gonna install the protective film on my rear bumper as I sit on the rear bumper when the trunk is open to change shoes, etc. It says to spray it with a "protective tape application solution" to allow it to be moved around prior to pressing it down into place. Does anyone know what this solution is made of and can I make it myself? Water with some dish washing liquid or something similar? Thanks in advance!

 

Yup, water with a couple drops of dish washing liquid. I know some window tinters use water + baby shampoo solution to aid in positioning tint on windows. Just spray it on the bumper and on the sticky side of the film and position it. Squeegee the water out with a credit card wrapped with a towel. It might take 24 hrs for the adhesive to reach full bond with the bumper after you squeegee the water out.
