ran over a huge piece of rubber/plastic on the freeway at 70mph
results:
a lot of the bumper clips fell out during the impact as well
as for the bumper damage, it seems as if those scuffs are rubber/gum like. i gave my car a good wash and it was as good as new, no scratches or anything. thank god! so the only thing i need to replace is the fender linear, which got completely destroyed
pic after wash, that's the only pic i have. forgot to take another close up pic lol

Everyday I'm rofling
I've almost driven over those big chunks of shredded semi tires on the interstate before, seems like they could really do some damage to your bumper if they are big enough. Glad to see your car wasn't hurt too badly.

same thing happened to me about a month ago. a flat piece of shredded truck tire was kicked up by the car in front of me and hit right in the middle of the bumber under the lower grill. was only going about 30 at the time and got lucky with no damage.

I'd get down and check your rocker panels behind your front wheels. If it scraped it to the bare metal, it might start rusting pretty quickly. Just a heads up.
Luckily it didn't do more damage, could've ended VERY badly.

a good driver would have avoided this

Damn that sucks. Try clay barring the damaged area to see if you can clean it up a bit. Then follow up with some rubbing compound and carnuba wax. Doesnt looks like it went down to the paint.
If that doesnt work, take it as an excuse to get yourself a jdp carbon front lip. That'll cover the scratches right up. Just justify it as a very expensive carbon fiber bandaid
