Purchasing a new 2012 TSX this week - NYC
So my parents have decided to buy me a new car for school. I'm now 20 and i was looking at CPO TSX's but the price difference would have only been 5-7k for a new 2012 model.
Therefore, I was pushing towards the new and the lowest price i was able to get was 29,115 before TTL. Is this a good price or should i keep looking and wait it out? I've gotten the same 'come on down and we'll beat their price' from many other dealers but nothing really solid. This is for the base model too.
If anyone can offer any tips or help, itd be appreciated!

thanks!
anyone have any opinion on even buying the 2012 model since its already August? In terms of resale value, and if the new model would be any better or waiting for a lower price on the 2012's.

yo, pyro, you think you can get me a good deal on an ilx 6 speed manual? I want my lease payments to be exactly 425 or below...this is including rolling over 4k in negative equity from my tsk tsk

^thanks. An Ilx 6-speed will be cheaper, given the current offers than the tsx 6-speed, so I may as well pull the trigger.

I got my '12 TSX (6 Speed) for $29,277 (Southern Cali) (which is including destination of $850), so I'd say 28,500 plus TTL is pretty good. Pay attention to financing charges as they can often offset what seems to be a good deal. For instance, the $29,277 price was offered to me at 4 percent due to a lack of credit history. I made the deal contingent upon a 1.9% charge and after a couple hours they accepted. The difference in these financing charges easily makes up the couple grand they offered as a "good deal."
Also, you might have more negotiability with an auto. A man trans really is a catch 22- only a select few want them and the dealer knows this, yet the dealer doesn't want them because they might sit on the lot for a while, and you know this.

thanks for all the input, i think i might go ahead with the 28,500$ deal, comes up to about 31k flat with TTL
hope i'm not making the wrong decision though, as im hearing the TSX is getting discontinued and/or 2013 is due to release. but everyone here seems to love their TSX and doesnt regret it one bit!

I think you're making a good choice with the TSX. Although it might not have the sportiest or lightest chassis, it is incredibly fun (speaking from manual side), extremely comfortable, and has so many standard amenities which are unheard of in BMW's, Benz's and the like without a couple grand in options. I've owned a '73 240z, Mk5 Rabbit, and put over 200 miles on an E46 BMW, and last gen Mazda 3 and the TSX is way better in almost all respects. (except the Z...nothing will ever beat the Z)
Enjoy the car!

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster. Need your advice.
Want to buy a new tsx, basque red pearl, preferably base model, outright with a check. Have no rush to buy, can wait until end of December. This will be my first car, but would rather not wait until june of next yr when tlx comes out.
Can't decide if I should buy it now since 2013 txs will be exactly the same model as 2012 but will not be available in basque red pearl color that I want, or wait until 2013 tsx comes (hopefully within the next 2 months) and then hopefully get a lower price on 2012 model.
What do you guys think abt the following offers that paragon dealer gave me: base model $27,787, SE $28,704, Tech $30,630 before TTL and destination fees. Based on reading posts on this forum, it seems some of you guys were able to get a base price of $27250 and tech of $30,500 that included the destination fees!
Thank you very much for your reply. Mrstak, will you be able to PM the info for your NJ dealer? Thanks.

Hmm, it seems like I won't be granted full access to user profiles, photo galleries, or the private message system until I've been here 15 days AND have made 5 constructive posts.
Thank you PyroDave. Btw, why is paragon the devil??

paragon has a bad rep. some of their salesman are nice but their overall tactics are to tell u over the phone that the car u want is still in stock and when u come in to look at it, it's not. hahah typical dealer shit. their service center is horrible though. i had my 2009 navi disc stolen out of my car when it was in their service center. no joke.
go to dave's dealer...he's awesome. that's where i got my car from.

paragon also lies about their offers. They will tell you once price to come in but then deny they ever made that offer even if you have it on paper/email. They will also add money on the contract in hopes you don't see it and sign.
I have given them 2 chances with a 4 year gap in between and both experiences were both just as horrible. Pyro's dealer (Ramsey?) has a good rep around here. I also recommend Smithtown...I got my 2010 in Sept of 2010 for around 27,400 including destination and everything except for taxes.

Boston is a little too far away as I have no car. lol. Thank you PyroDave for the information. I really want a basque red pearl color but would've preferred ebony leather inside rather than parchment leather. It seems like I cannot change the interior color. Is this true? Thanks.

Yeah, if you are going to buy an automatic, then maybe look at the Accord. But, if you want a car you can't wait to drive, buy an SE with a manual and then you will have "all the fun".

meh. i wasnt impressed with the TSX's 6 speed. coming from a S2000.. it just didnt do it for me. if you want a car you cant wait to drive, buy a S2000. lol.
if i was looking at a TSX right now, id seriously consider the accord.
lots of features for the price.
