Prediction of ILX MSRP and what will the 3rd gen TSX be like?
#43
My understanding is that the TSX and TL are being replaced by one car. The ILX isnt really a TSX replacement - if anything its a CSX replacement and (hopefully) will be priced at a lower level than the current TSX.

We already know it's going to be priced lower than the TSX. They said it'll be priced significantly lower than 30k. Forgot the exact words they used but yea. Can't really say it's a CSX replacement either cuz the CSX was only sold in Canada.
I keep reading people saying that the TSX and TL are gonna be merged but where are you guys getting this info? Not that I'm doubting you guys but I'd like to know where you're reading this from.

I firmly beleive TSX and TL will be gone and both will be replaced by one car which I think is pretty cool marketing strategy. At the end we might see only 3 sedans .
"What hasn’t been mentioned is the fate of the Acura TSX and TL. The most likely scenario will see the TSX and TL replaced by a single model serving as Acura’s mid-level sedan, followed by the RL replacement as its flagship and the Honda Civic-based ILX as the brand’s entry-level sedan."

"An Acura product planning executive told Inside Line: "We will ultimately have three sizes of sedan — entry luxury, mid luxury and high luxury."

The RL is the Honda Legend (JDM and Europe)
The TSX is the Euro Accord
The ILX will be the Civic
AFAIK, the TL is US market only which is a reason that it has to go. Platform sharing is the only real way to be profitable.

Summer is Coming
The new mid-line sedan, the combined TSX-TL, will be based on the new US Accord platform. This leaves only the RL made in Japan. The reason to dump the TSX was to avoid the loss on importing the cars from Japan. I guess they figure they wont need to import many RLs since they sell so poorly.
