Police Tints and license plate cover Recording
pulled over today for tints which are illegal apparently and my license plate cover which i had no clue both were illegal until today i was told by my acura dealer in which had the car from when this was brand new, one of the guys who worked there had driven it untill 30,000 miles,they were both legal i haven't done anything to this car beside install a short ram intake, but i recorded it because iv had bad experiences with all cops especially small corrupt town cops, where my rights were violated a long time ago and i was abused, i was only 16 at the time, i was only an ***hole because i did nothing wrong, from my perspective. lol ohwell

video is private, tint and license plate covers are illegal depending on the state and percentage. cant make a comment until the video is changed from private to unlisted, that way only those with a link can view it. also what state do you live in

NY and yea i fixed, i only posted because i literally had no idea about any of this, i bought the car as it was and was told they were legal, i dont even think i can fight it because i was already proven guilty because he had tested it

License plate frames have been illegal for awhile.
Tint is 35% in nc. I would have gone a lot darker otherwise.
You can prob get the plate cover ticket dropped if the dealer put it on there.
They might drop the tint too if you go pass a inspection.

im deff biting the bullet for the tints, nothing i can do and i am not paying to get 70% and go lighter my local tint shop will cost me over $250 which i do not have right now, might as well go back to stock how they should be, however u think i should fight the licensce plate cover?

From the illegal audio recording, it is obvious that you got 3 fixit tickets so fix it.
To tell a cop that 30% tint came that way from the factory is idiotic - no wonder you have periodic issues with cops. Your pissy attitude will get you in trouble.
BTW, tinted plate covers are a violation of federal law.

You're gonna get a lot further by cooperating.
One would think someone who's dealt with cops a lot would know that.

I would recommend you scrape the tint off or have a shop do it.
It's up to you to decide if 70% is worth it and re tint.
After hearing you mouth off like that, I wouldn't suggest you fight anything.

^ pretty much what they said you seem to have an attitude which isn't going to help anything. the liscense plate cover is pretty much illegal in the US so yeah... and tint depends on the state.

I got pulled over a couple months ago for my tint in MA....legal limit is 35%...asked the tint guy to make it legal...fronts were 33% and back was 18%... -_- but because of how I treated the cop...he let me go without a ticket, so long as I would take them off....avoided a 300+ ticket by treating him like he was a human being doing a job

How is it an illegal recording? My lawyer told me I'm allowed to record any traffic violation, so ur dumb, and the reason I said I'm bitinf the bullet for the tint is because I researched and realized my state doesn't allow fighting of tint tickets, so stfu don't try n act smart u

Holy shit man you've been so wronged by the cops. He did his job, pulled you over, gave you a ticket for things you should know, are obviously illegal, and tells you how to get the tickets cleared? how dare he. And then he has the audacity to actually sound like a nice guy doing his job? The horror.
Another thing: One of the guys who worked there drove the car until 30,000 miles? So it was HIS car that HE modified, then sold back to the dealership to sell out as a used car? Or what's the situation there? I doubt a dealership just gives a guy a car to drive around for 30,000 miles. The fact that the dealership sold it to you with these illegal modifications may help you present a case, i'm not sure what the laws are for a dealership selling a car with illegal tints are, maybe ceb can shed a little light on this subject?
