Painted Grill

I was browsing the new 4G TL forum and I came across this thread that had a red TL with part of the front grill painted the same color as the car. The link is:

https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-photograph-gallery-296/09-painted-front-grill-691216/

I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar on a tsx or can photoshop it preferably on a black tsx because it could have potential to look amazing...

I have a TSX in Grigio Metallic, and painted the grill black. It looks clean!! I didn't want to paint it the same color as the body, I wanted it to be the same color as the honeycomb section. I haven't taken any pictures though. I will probably wash my car Wednesday and take some pics then.

You could get someone in the paint shop to spray it for like 50 bones, I don't see how this is any diff than getting a spoiler of whatever other options may come. Its not like hes gutting the car a giving it a completely new front end.

that painted front looks really nice. and thanks to the guy that backed me up. changing the grill is a small step like an intake or exhaust not swaping everything off.

Now if only rsjapan would make one to use as a "buck" or a "plug" with which to make a mold, we could have them made in real carbon fiber or fiberglass if one wanted to paint to match.

The white car has the option Areo bumper. There are no lip kits for the US cars just the option front, rear bumpers and side skirts. The Euro and Japanese have a lip kit option.

def. more toned down from the stock chrome, but the hole opening seems to be too large or maybe larger/thicker mesh would help. You might get flamed on slapping on the Mugen emblem on there also.....

Clean exectution though. I like the front lip!!

Wow...it really looks much better. If I didn't get a great deal on my '08, I might be pissed I didn't wait and get an '09 with the grill painted.

I agree about the "mugen" grill. The hole looks too big but I like that color much more than the black. I imagine it would be much harder to color match the grill to grigio.

Painted grill makes it look 'cheap' or less expensive/ghetto imo.

sorry fellas.

I like the TSX stock grill...it looks like its important/special. The "Im better then YOU!" look which I love.
