Hows is the paint quality on the tsx?is it very soft or just avg?i know some cars got very soft paint and scratch very easy, ex(lexus) then u got cars that paints are really hard ex(chevy). Is it worth to put a clear bra right off the bat on the front bumper?

 

Clear-bra it, Honda paint is pretty soft. I went thru a winter without it and i have some nice chips to show for it.

 

I was detailing the car and left a tiny indent with my nail by accident, the paint is SUPER soft............sucks really, but it's too late for clear bra for me.....you have to do it first few days of ownership. And it turns yellowish on white cars!!!

 

I hate clear bra.

 

Clear bras get old and need to be replaced and cause paint mismatches eventually. It's cheaper just to repaint your hood and bumper and get it done right than put a clear bra on it.

 

I clear bra'd my bumper (the sport bumper), and I am very happy with it. And it has a life time warranty, so they will replace it when it starts to look discolored. I did not clear bra the hood though, I hate the line when only the front is done, and I was not that worried about it. Just had the bumper, head lights, fog lights, side mirrors and by the trunk done.

 

The paint quality is superb in terms of its application. However, it's durability is pathetic. Running a fingernail across it will scratch it (I learned this the hard way). These cars will not age well interms of paint appearance. Honda could learn a thing or to from Ford. My Ford vehicles had some seriously durable paint that looked great even after 10 years and were pretty scratch-resistant.

 

Agreed, the paint mismatches are what concern me the most. You want all the paint on your car to fade at an even rate, otherwise it looks like you got in an accident and the car wasn't repainted properly. Bad for re-sale value.
