Opinions on the V6
Ok so I couldn't find enough info I wanted after searching.
My gal and I already have a 2013 SE 6mt, I enjoy it, but not IMMENSELY.
I currently have an 04 RSX 6spd that I tool around to work in but want to make it a track toy.
I was wanting something kind of similar to the TSX as I like the feel of it. But the 2.4 is just not enough. So Obviously the V6 sounded fun.
I tried the 2013 TL SHAWD 6mt and was very dissapointed, plus it is a bit too big. So I am back to the TSX.
What does the peanut gallery have for me? I'd like your opinions. The v6 accord coupe seemed fun but not as good reviews. I am not going near anything with a v8, and I want to stay away from the EVO/STi crowd.

I think the V6 would be really nice, especially in a few years when people swap out the auto for a manual 6 speed. It's a matter of time until it happens, and then it will be the norm. And with TL V6 getting Hondata, there is hope that maybe other Honda V6's will come in the future.
For standard driving, and you are just wanting a car to be a car, I think it would be decent. I don't think anyone on here who has one has had any complaints about it...

I bet with an intake/exhaust it would help a little. Plus at least it isn't Mcpherson up front like the RSX. (GARBAGE)
The stereo is good, the seats are comfy, the look is pretty nice. The only other option I thought would be fun is the

Well, myself and Utah are going turbo with the i4. I have a manual, and he has an auto.
Hopefully in a few months we'll all be set up and tuned. It's a real shame that the TSX wasn't released with the K series turbo founde in the RDX...
But I would agree with you, an intake, the rv6 header pipes, a nice exhaust. I think you'd have a real fun screamer on your hands. OEM reliability... Get a bigger sway bar for the back...

I have been following your build closely. Looks great so far.
I am doing an NA K24 build for the RSX for the track, leaving the TSX alone because I am betting a stock, mint, low miles 6speed will hold its value well.
Any words on the MDX SHAWD Turbo?

200lb/ft is not a lot of torque, it can't be pulling that bad....
What other driving dynamics would it mess up? The front suspension is already designed for a v6, as is the bay, front brakes, and other components. I would just need to convert it to the TL's transmission somehow.

The RDX turbo AWD drive train would have perfect for a TSX. Acura screwed up the oppurtunity.
The V6 TSX drives fine. It doesnt feel as nimble as the 4cyl but it can round a clover leaf just fine.

I love my v6. It drives perfectly fine for a occasionally spirited dd. It has plenty of pickup for the average person. Throw a rsb on it and like the i4 it improves handling.
Everyone bitches about the weight distribution not being ideal for auto cross, so don't use it for that. That's not why people buy this car so get over it. There are plenty of other good options out there to use for a track car.

I took various weights out of my TL, and I've dropped about 80-100lbs.
I'm also a 6 speed manual, and this transmission weighs about 100lbs less than the auto.
while not as "tossable" as the 1st gen tsx, its definitely fun!
and these cars are faster around the track than a G35 and some bmw's

Test drive and compare. The feel of the V6 is definitely "heavier" but I liked that feeling and the steering felt a lot better than on the I4. Yes it's nose heavy @ 70/30, but the suspension adjustments do help. And I've never felt torque steer unless I absolutely floor it coming out of a corner; but it's quickly recoverable.

I drove a TSX V6 one time and it was pretty damn quick. In fact, despite the fact it was an automatic it felt damn close to my TL Type-S 6 speed. I think it was a 2010 model though and the power steering was waaaaay overboosted. So basically, the driving dynamics were rubbish but the power of that engine was intoxicating.

to the original poster, the tsx v6 is definitely enjoyable to drive. There is a nice rumble to it. The auto transmission isnt lightning fast but its surprisingly fast for a normal automatic.
I have had a variety of previous cars, 135i 6spd, evox 5spd, this was my first auto and I am really happy with the purchase.
In fact when I first test drove the I4 i asked the salesman if it came in a v6 and he told me it didnt
. At that time I set my mind on the i4 only to stumble upon acurazine and then threads on the v6 model.
After that I test drove one of the few in my area and I ended up trading in my evox that day.
The reason I traded the evox was due to issues with motor and clutch and my wife hating riding in it.
Now after letting her use the car while out of town all week she loves it more than her car.
She might be taking it from my hands![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
Also I was impressed with the fuel economy, with cruise control on I managed 29-30 mpg on a recent 200+ mile road trip.
With easy maintenance I think It makes a fantastic daily driver.
As far as autocrossing it, I would just look into a weekend project if you want to tackle that aspect.
The suspension is soft compared to sporty(ier) cars but it sticks to turns surprisingly well.

Thanks for all the input. I went to 3 Acura dealerships in Phoenix and none of them had a V6 on the lot for me to drive.
I also noticed that they are only $700 away from the TL if you want the V6

I've got a 2010 TSX V6 Tech that I'm looking to replace right now. Have been looking for an '11 or '12 TSX V6 Tech with less than 10k miles. Let me tell you, they are extremely scarce. I've been looking for 4 months and they just simply don't exist. I love my V6 and really just want a newer one but don't want to buy a brand new one. But from what you're saying BattleofXs, the new ones don't exist either. It's a fine car to drive. I have thoroughly enjoyed mine.
