one of my valve stem caps is missing
i suspect that when i got my car initially inspected, the mechanic forgot to replace it. i went back today and there were 2 of them sitting around the garage, but neither of them were exact matches.
i took one of them and put it on, and it seems to fit reasonably well. can i just leave it on for the time being, or should i get the OEM cap from a dealer?
i know it sounds silly, but i'm paranoid whenever i get a new car.
already have a nice 3" scratch on the front of the bumper because of some careless snow shovelers, who then denied any wrongdoing. i will be taking them to small claims court for $200 to buff it out.

Are you seriously asking this question?
Go to the local autoparts store and buy a pack of plastic replacement caps for like $1.50. They're not meant for anything other than keeping dirt/junk from getting in there.
Sorry, but I still can't believe you would ask this.

i really didn't know if it mattered though, with the TPMS and whatnot. sorry for the inconvenience; mods, you can lock this thread and ban me for 10 days for being dumb...
Just get some new valve stems and you'll be fine. There's nothing really "OEM" about them.
okay. i just haven't had a car with TPMS, so i didn't know if there was anything special about the caps or not (i was thinking in terms of the valve stems needing to be replaced or transferred if you get new wheels).
All of the stealerships that I have been to have told me that having metal/aluminum valve stem caps will mess with the TPMS.
But, I've seen many on here have them with no problems.
