Probably not, especially if you're going for Honda branded. The dealers buy barrels of oil at a time, and gain the price benefits of doing so.

I use Purolator filters which are cheaper and better than Honda filters. For oil, I usually get Mobile 1 from Costco (when there's a $9 off coupon) or go to WalMart for the 5qt. I change my own oil and it's quicker than going to a dealer if you factor travel and wait time.

I figure an oil change costs me about $25 with Synthetic. and good PureOne filter which isn't bad.

Excellent choice. I, too, am a Purolator/Mobil 1 man.

Yea I usually do M1 from Walmart and PureOne from advance/autozone. Though sometimes Advance will have good Mobil 1 with Mobil filter deals

My dealer pays for the oil changes on my car. That said, I've heard great things about HAMP oil filters (which are used on Acuras/Hondas).
