I knew if anyone could think of a solution to put the pieces together it'd be defcon. Is that like epoxy?

HT, are you going to paint all the mesh parts first before you send them out (if you do send them out separate that is)

Honestly, ..Ive been acquainted with Marcus from Heeltoe for close to 4 years now and his company has always been TOP NOTCH. I was EXTREMELY SURPRISED to see him drop the ball so hard on this product. It made me question everything I knew about him...but for the reasons that he stated above, I am sympathetic and would still gladly give him my service. That being said, I believe he is a good business person with even better customer service. Just forgive him guys..he really is good at what he does and an occasion like this truly is rare for Marcus.

alright, well at least we get an update here.

first off, the grilles look fantastic. i have no doubt that these will be quality parts

however the mesh im still kinda iffy about actually. marcus do you happen to have a picture of the black sprayed mesh you did paired up with the grille?

Thanks ttk, I needed that.

Now on to business, I could glue/epoxy the mesh on (as was suggested by a few people here) but then finishing the part would be a major pain. Painting the stuff would be hard to get to match the quality of the part.

I though of screwing it on, but there is no provision there for that. I am thinking I need to take it back to the fiberglass guy and have him put on some more epoxy material that we can drill holes in and screw it on to the back. The metal tabs idea was taken from a Mugen grille that we had seen in the past. But withing being able to stamp them out and have the right material that is proving to be difficult.

a removable method would be preferred, this way if you get some major chippage or anything you could remove and respray the mesh without destroying the grill

I posted one up a while back. Honestly it looks awesome. I think from the pics it is hard to tell, and for sure you will want to paint it black. When it is on the car you won't see it until you get close, but it will look good.

I wanted to powdercoat them to be honest, but I knew that would have added more time and cost as well.

I am going to bring the grille back to the fiberglass guy and have him add some screw provisions and change the mold so new grilles will pop out with them. My wife wants these out of my living room. So do I and so do you all.

No, it means our product is produced and 90% ready to go, just need to get the last step figured out.

I am not really concerned about competition. People will get whatever grille they think looks best and has the best in internet pics.

So you will keep the old grilles with no screw provisions and send out those with screw provisions?

Paint no...I am going to have tackle that afterward. Mesh will be on, but the paint will need to be re-evaluated.

Wait...when you mean mesh will be on, you mean it'll be detachable right? Otherwise...it doesn't make sense to put the mesh on unpainted...

What did you mean by re-evaluated btw? Like you need to figure out a different method to put on the paint? Or the paint you're using isn't good enough quality?

WTF you talkin bout I bought it with the paint option I EXPECT it to be painted and considering how long it took to come to fruition at this point thats a small thing to ask for

Yes, detachable.

Re-evaluiated: gotta check and make sure the cost structure on painting has not changes since the ice-ages when we started this project. I might opt to send them unpainted and refund the paint cost, or we might be able to get it done for you guys. A tad up in the air.

A lot of expectations are not being met here. No secret about that now. It sounds small but it can be difficult and time consuming for us to organize. I am not saying we can't or won't do it at this time, but there might be more waiting involved than you are willing to endure, and the cost might prohibit us from doing it for the fees paid.

Anyway, I am not sure it is totally worth freaking out about this point. I am just tossing out the possibility that it might end up being better for you to have painted locally.

We are going to handle this on an individual basis when the time comes.

I am hoping to have 2-3 grilles ready to ship per week. We are planning to fill based on a balance of who deposited first along with who pays their balance first. We'll approach each individual as their turn comes up

Grille tabs installed! 2 grilles have mesh mounted. Emblems on order. As of 10/17/11 we are at the end of the tunnel! Just need to put some minor touches, namely adding the emblem and packaging, and we'll be shipping 2-3 per week as the mesh tabs are done processing.
