New 10' TSX Owner in New England

Hi,
My name is Jon and I just wanted to first thank the community for all the great content on this site!
It helped me pick out the TSX I bought back in October.

It's a 2010 auto, white/black. Traded in my CRV for it.
First thing I did was change the oil, transmission fluid and did a brake fluid flush.
I wanted to make the car look a bit better and with the help of you guys, I went for a front lip, rims, and a drop.
Apologies for all the pictures being taken from my iphone.

I'll start with the dealer lot pic.

Found the lip on ebay. Not bad for $100.

Below was a test fit. XXR 527 18x8.75 ET35
Bumper was off for a respray.

I went with Kuhmo Ecsta SPT 225/45/18 tires to maintain a close diameter to the stock tire size.

I did some research on the forums for lowering options, bought Tein S-tech springs but I live in New Hampshire and I decided to go for Megan coilovers.

A few more phone pics. Also installed new rear rotors. I will at some point take nicer shots when the front lip gets painted.

At the current height, I do rub and the inner part of the front fenders are molding themselves to the tires. I will raise it up tonight and install my stock wheels soon. I'll have to roll the fenders in the spring when I put the XXR's back on.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks everyone! I ended up raising the car last night 3/8" or so.
Also pulled the front fenders gently with my hands, looks like my rubbing issues are solved for now.

It's not just you.
Rear bumper was resprayed TWICE in the past month, still does not match well.
I'm currently looking for a bodyshop in New hampshire that will do a better job.
Instagram filters also do not help ha

Welcome! I didn't even notice the bumper was a different color lol. When you get your rear bumper painted again, pls pls pls paint the lip! And the lip looks much better than mine, looks more smooth and not warped like mine.

That's the problem with the white... it's gonna be really hard to match.

Also interested on the seller you got that lip from.

Thanks all, I now understand white pearl is a PITA to match!

For those who are wondering about the lip, the seller is wsa-auto.
Shipped in a big box, lip was not bent at all and came w/hardware.
$104.99 shipped.

Thanks. how much lower does it sit with the lip than stock? My car is stock ride height and even now it will occasionally scrape.

It does not really affect stock ride height at all. Maybe just in thickness of the lip material (1/8"?)

Crank seal replacement

I was changing my oil on monday and my oil pan had a light coat of oil, crank seal decided to give at 52k miles.

Old leaky seal

Removed seal. I then cleaned the entire area, and also re-sealed that small timing cover (upper left) with Honda Ultraflange.

I cleaned up the pulley, it was caked with oil.

Valve cover work

My buddies are dragging me to Import Face Off this weekend in Epping, NH.
So I decided to dress up the engine bay a bit.
I'm going to use the Civic Si coil cover instead of the stock one with "A" emblem.
Dip stick will be replaced with civic type r. It's black instead of orange.
I don't know what I'm going to do with the plastic manifold cover.

Bringing this thread back from the dead!

I'm curious if your XXRs were the black or the "chromium" color? I like how they look in your photos, and I'm looking for a wheel for my sport wagon.

Also, how did they ride on the 225/45s? And what was your impression of the wheels in general? I was leaning toward doing 18x9.5 +40, but they're just a little bit too wide. I'm worried about having to do extensive fender work and also having some ride quality issues. Your setup seems to be a nice compromise, since you've got nice concavity and it doesn't look like you had to do any crazy fender work? I was hoping to get away with a roll in the rear and MAYBE a hand pull in the front.

Anyhow, car looks good. Hopefully you're still on the forums!
