What's up , I currently drive a Honda Accord which my lease is almost up and I'm looking into purchasing a 2gen TSX but I need some help/advise on what is worth getting.
Base?
Tech?
4cyl 6pseed?
6-6?
Thanks.

Oh snap...another member from my8thgen/driveacc0rd
I heard 6 speed is a better ride than auto. I personally like the Tech edition. Rearview camera, upgraded sound, navi...they're all good to me. Sadly there's no 6-6 as the V6 trim only has auto with paddle shifters.
Are there any must-haves in a car for you?

if i can choose again, i'd def. choose the 6spd.
base or tech - ask yourself if you really need the goodies? when i bought the car new, the tech package was like an extra 3k, so i got the base instead. it would be nice to have navi and back up camera though.
never drove the v6 so can't comment on that

I would go for a SE with a 6 speed right now. The SE has cool features like alcantara seats, a lip kit, and a black headliner. Only minus is that it doesnt come with navi.
When I bought mine, I went for a base b/c I got it during the end of 2010 and coulnt justify spending $$ on a navi system that is way outdated since the 2011 would be coming out soon with a much better system.

Given your vague description. Get the 4cyl 6spd Special edition. Get the non tech if you wanna save money and you dont care about sound system and back up camera. cause those are the 2 major advantages i think. GPS you dont really need these days

V6 Tech all the way... I finally drove mine aggressively yesterday. I figure I have enough break-in to see what happens about 4K rpms and above.
From a dead stop the tires smoked, so I backed off just a little then punched it. Was clocking 100 mph in (just guessing) 150 yards to 200 yards.
If it were RWD, it would be everything I want. But I think I'll turn it over to the daughter within the next year, and buy something (like many old farts) that has insane power... CTS-V, Vette, or Shelby Mustang.

can not get tech with the special edition tsx. If you want manual transmission with the 2012 tsx you have to get the se model.

go base 6speed, you can't lose. All the other tech crap bells & whistles isn't worth the money, and is more prone to breaking.
You'll definitely have differing opinions, but that's just my 2 cents. My '09 went problem free for the 22k miles I put on it. I think I paid a total of like $200 in maintenance during the 3 years I owned it.

We have far too much traffic in Hampton Roads for me to pretend driving manual is any fun around here. My days of being hip are over. :P Slushboxes in my TSX and Wrangler.
I say get the V6 if you can afford it. Otherwise, the I4 is plenty of power/fuel economy and you have 3 configuration options, Tech, Non-tech, and SE Non-Tech. Narrows your options based on your needs. Good luck in your seach!

driving the tsx in traffic isn't bad actually. just slightly let up the clutch and the car starts rolling itself forward. Only time you need to modulate clutch and gas is on a hill and even then, it's effortless.

Hmmm, I4 tech or V6 nontech. If I had to do it all over again, I would look seriously at the v6. Never drove one, but I do often find myself yearning for more power, now that the newness has worn off. Although, I love the sound system of the tech...
