Hey guys,

I was driving my 09 to work this afternoon with the moonroof open and was once again plagued by the infamous nav screen glare, despite the fact that I have the "dealer installed" mouse pad fix. I have always wondered how the pad was supposed to reduce glare since it is textured just like the dash and almost as reflective. For the heck of it I flipped it over, felt-side up and VIOLA most of the glare disappeared. Very noticeable difference. So much so that it almost makes me wonder if it is supposed to be installed felt-side up, vinyl-side down. If I've had it upside down this whole time I'm gonna smack myself! Then again, I guess I can blame it on the service tech that "installed" it in the first place. DOH!

It's equally as bad in the non-navi vehicles (mind you we're only using the screen for radio deets)

I should've posted this..did it on the drive home after getting mine "installed" about 6 months ago. It definitely is an improvement but I still get a 100% unreadable screen occasionally. Plus the felt side is nice to toss your phone or other small items temporarily.

What's really needed is a longer shield above the display, but that would look dumb. Or Honda could have used literally anything else other than the 50-year-old Vacuum Fluorescent Display...

So I got the mouse pad a year ago, and said the same exact thing.. "why did they make the pad the exact same material??" I flipped it over and it hasn't moved since. They make anti-glare ipad screens, so I was gunna buy one and see if it helped but then I realized I didn't care enough. As well, I drive with my side markers on which dims the screen even more.
