Muffler Sound

I have a 2-month new 2011 4-cylinder model. On Sunday, I walked around the car with the engine on and I noticed that the sound from the mufflers was a little loud. The left exhaust pipe might even be louder than the right one. It was going thud-thud-thud. It almost sounded like there was a hole in the muffler. Does yours make the same sound? Coming from a first gen TSX, I always thought the engine in the 2nd gen sounds a little coarser than the first gen.

If there was a hole in the muffler, you would know it. I feel the 2nd gen has better sound dampening than the 1st, so from the cabin it sounds quieter but in reality is about the same decibels.

I've heard a little buh-buh-buh sound while standing at the trunk with it running, kinda sounds like it's missing. It's always done it.

I would call it a put-put-put sound.

The exhaust is a high flowing unit so it's a little louder from outside the vehicle. That said, don't worry about it, its pretty quiet when you give it a little gas and you can barely hear it from inside.

It's the way the mufflers are designed. If you go into the ct-engineering thread, the guy has a ct-engineer exhaust which just sounds nice and deep, no put put put that our stock muffler makes.
