MPG on 09 TSX?
Hi
I`m owner of 03 Acura TL-S
What MPG are you getting on 09 TSX?
I like new TSX and I would consider to buy one or 07 TL-S
My concern is MPG... My friend has 07 TSX and I`m getting much better MPG then she is.

I'm surprised....
And your mileage (and hers) is...?
To refresh my memory, I looked up.... ConsumerReports got 14/34 on a 2002 TL-S, and 16/35 on a 2004, 27 on both for a 150 mile trip. Compare with 15/36 they got for a 2004 TSX, 29 on the road trip. Surprising considering the TL has a V6, though maybe the TSX really guzzles gas unless you drive it conservatively. (I drove a 2007 TL as a loaner, and found I had to put the spurs to it to get the same git-up-an-go as my TSX.)
Supposedly the '09 TSX ups the EPA mileage over 1GEN by 1 mpg. So ... will early bird buyers get that? Let's see...

Edit: Yeah I've got an '06 MT and I could match your mileage number with ease...

Must be difference in highway/city mix, tire pressure, or driving style. Perhaps she is not changing gears early enough. Perhaps she wants more torque -- and uses the throttle to try to get it.
How often do you check your tire pressure. How often does she check her tire pressure. Too many women, and men, believe that once you put air in a tire, you are done with it -- unless it goes flat.
Without saying a word to her, take a tire gauge and check her tire pressure whenever the tires are at ambient temperature (usually, first thing in the morning). If that is not feasible, then allow 3 PSI for tires that are at operating temperature. In other words, 32 cold = approx. 35 at operating temperature.
How long does she let the car warm up on cold mornings? Does she always run the A/C during warm days?
There is a current thread on gas mileage. With an '04 TSX, I get 20-25 MPG in city and 30-32 MPG on the road.
Expect the same mileage from an '09 and as from the 1st gen TSX.

For comparison purposes, I think I'm averaging 26mpg on my 08 TSX, 6spd, 70% highway 30% city. Kind of sucks, I knew what I was getting myself into but lucky me my plans were foiled when my Civic was stolen 2 weeks after buying the TSX.

28mpg in your TL? Wow, that's impressive as I'm getting 21-22mpg...but 90% is city driving though...
Also, if you ever sell your TL and plan to part out, send me a PM!

I am going to stay under 4,000 RPM's and do not use full throttle until 600 miles. I am then going to use full throttle and go up to 6,000 RPM's several times each day for a total of about 30 seconds. One theory is that this will help seal the rings. Otherwise, I will be driving under 4,000 RPM and go easy on the throttle until 1,000 miles. I will then drive like it is fully broken in.

Oh and check the oil at every fill up. K24s are not known to be oil burners (only 7,000 rpm) but K20s (8K) and F20s (9k) do use oil during the first 5,000-10,000 miles and it's a good idea to keep an eye on it.
