The two '09s I see at work are driven by people that are 50+. The five 1st-gen TSXs that are in the lot are all owned by people 35 and younger. I know it's not much of a sample, but it's a very curious observation. There are definitely a lot more 50+ owners here in the 2nd-gen forum than there were in 2003 when the first gen was released.

Yah, we olde fogeys haf to stick 2gether.
We don't have the 09 but we drive our 2 08 like an olde woman/man.
We coast alot.
Our feet are so tired and stiff, we can't hit the gas like we used to.
We HAVE a lot of gas tho. Just something for you youngsters here to look 4ward to.

WStagner.....I've enjoyed your commentary in this thread. I'm a 54 year old man who just feels like 75 but still think and act like a 35 year old.
My first Honda was a 93 Accord LX that I bought when I was 39. I purchased the car because I had a 90 minute commute one way to work and wanted a quality car that would be comfortable, reliable, and affordable. The Accord fit the picture. After about a year this old 39yr old upgraded my AM/FM radio with $4K of stereo equipment to soothe my long drive. In 96 I traded up to an EX-V6 Accord, transferred my stereo and added about another $4K into it in the next year or so.
I got married in 97 and my wife had a gas guzzling Chrysler that had a ton of miles on a lease so I moved her into a 98 Accord which we still have along with it's 180K miles but my wife now drives a 97 CRV-EX and she loves it. She puts a lot of miles on the vehicle and it just runs.
I wanted something different when I ended our lease on the 05 Pilot. I really wanted either a 350Z or Infinity G37 unfortunately neither were very practical at this time. I have a friend who had an 05TL and then moved up to a 08TL so I thought I would check it out. At the time I left a message for the Acura Sales to call me back so I could set up an appointment to drive both a TL and a TSX. I got a return message stating that I couldn't test drive the TSX for another 2 days until it was officially released, I had no idea that 09 TSX was just coming out.
I drove both cards and even though I loved both cars the TSX by far was much more fun to drive and I liked the idea of getting the Tech package and all of it's features now, rather then waiting for an 09TL. I loved the gas mileage as well.
I think I made a great choice on the TSX I've heard all of the complaints about the grille, wheels, and lack of power. For what I'm looking for it is perfect, I'm not racing it so It has plenty of power for me. I don't see anything wrong with the grill other than the fact that it is plastic and maybe a stone magnet but time will tell. I like the wheels and have no desire to spend thousands of dollars for new tires and wheels after I spend over $30 for the car.
I guess if all of this makes me old then so be it. But I'm a happy old man!

Great post....thanx.
I live near Chicago...where are you guys located?
So you got an 09 then?
Before we bought our 2 08 TSX and discovered this forum, we've never known anyone who modified a car other than maybe changing the stereo like you did.
Both the 1st and 2nd gen TSX are great as is. Here's a toast to both of us and our cars.

Make a hole, coming thru!
Got you guys beat. A 5mm x 5mm kidney stone laid me out Sunday and sent me to the ER with excruciating pain. I feel like Methuselah, ready for the pine box. (I'm better now, thanks.)
And I had to ride there in a 2000 Jetta with wimpy a/c, in 100 deg. heat. :P Oh, the shame....

Backatcha!
:-)
As I've stated in another thread, we'll be replacing most of the vinyl pieces on our seats next week with genuine leather. Only because it "bugs" me to be touching vinyl in a 30k car.
This is the extent of my mods.
