Lots of vibration at idle
I get a lot of vibration at idle when the car is stopped and in drive. I put the car in park and it is fine, but as soon as I put it in drive it shakes. Any ideas what is going on?

mounts are fine, it's one of the many common issues with this car.
i dunno i have read quite a few posts with the same problem, maybe ill ask the dealer next time i'm over there.
Yes and of course buy a can of throttle body cleaner, you need someone to press the gas with the engine off but with key on ignition position two so the plate can open and you clean around it, try not to touch the plate that opens.
meh.. I don't hate FF. FFs (at least back in the day when we had lighter FFs?) have pretty amazing corning abilities when the suspension is properly tuned. All those best motoring vids of EKs and ITRs always impress me. Those cars are fast as fuck, and I'd love to drive/own one. The CU2 doesn't fall into that category... so it's tough to like the FF layout on our cars.
I think there's 1 Best Motoring EP that featured a CL7. Those have a better platform for auto-x/touge racing than our cars... but even then, just 1 feature/episode. I think they're only interested in the EKs, ITRs, and whatever FFs that were great back in the day.
But for our car, it would've been nice to have a 4WD option. I don't know if FR would've made any sense...

If our cars had SHAWD it would be pretty damn good.
My friend's RDX 1g amazes me. It's faster than the TSX by a good bit and actually corners better in some cases. hardly ever spins the tires or looses traction. and that shit is a boat @ like 4000lbs.
Yeah, the 2G tsx is probably one of the worst example of FF for performance. and then that terrible 5AT with long ass gears and an open diff .... awww yeeeeahh. But if I had the 6mt i would definitely want to to keep this car longer. But i hate this trans.
also the thing with those vids of EKs and integras... those cars are super heavily modified mostly, right? A stock one is not really comparable, well expect for an ITR obviously.

but I think they would have a bigger problem than the FF layout (i.e., lack of power). I like how nimble those cars are.

Did you not see what Peter Cunningham was able to do with the cl9 and cu2 platform with the realtime team?! The tsx chassis has been proven on the track as a formidable opponent to other higher powered rwd cars in it's class (i.e. Bmw 3 series) Cunningham actually dominated. And you would be surprised how non-heavily modified the actual chassis and drivetrains were in the race cars due to restrictions in the class. Of course it's gutted and reinforced for safety purposes but for the most part it's still a tsx
I was more or less trying to say that, the CU2 feels less raw and less potent to those on a shorter budget. You need to do a lot to make it what RT racing was able to prove. But the older Honda platforms (in my opinion) were lighter, smaller, and cheaper to get to a trackable car. Of course this argument itself isn't very valid because of course newer cars are gonna be bigger/heavier/etc. with the demand going more towards larger vehicles in America, and stricter safety laws. But it's these things that make me feel like the car needs a lot more work before it can be a worthy car for the track.
edit:
hm.. I guess I'll retract my first statement about the RTR CU2 not being as successful as the CL7/9. You're right it was entered into a more competitive class this time around. They built/tuned the J series this time.
I suppose it boils down to aftermarket support and the the fact that the CU2 was released at a bad economic time. Mods are expensive, and there isn't really much out there to be honest, whereas other platforms have a ton of options to sift through, creating more competition and more competitive pricing. I love my car no doubt, but I don't wanna spend so much to get it to the level I'd be happy with as a street+track car.

Just bare in mind all the cars in that class had shit tons of money into their rides.. And yes when he raced the cu2 the class got a lot tougher due to less restrictions in the class. I've owned many cars that can HANDLE stock and my tsx is up there... U should really get a hold of a 6spd cu2 iCrap... Then hoon the fuck out of it.. At higher speeds and corners I honestly think my tsx handles better than my 04 wrx did when suspension was stock. U want a good auto x car that goes around cones fast than just buy a Miata, but me personally I am very happy with the handling in my daily hooning

Yeah dude a lot more true 50/50 weight on the car with the wayyyy lighter manual trans. Imagine ur car but better (even though u do have that awesome sway bar). Tell you what, I know I'm breaking a cardinal rule in the car world when I say this because you should treat your car like your women, never let anyone else take her for a ride, but if you r ever in orlando I'll let you take my bitch for a quick ride.. Maybe she's boosted and has more meaty rims/tires and suspension by then lol

Mine vibrates too at reverse and when in drive/sport and stopped (when cold). Is this normal? My whole car doesn't vibrate or anything, and you can't really feel it, but you can sorta hear a vibration noise. My seat also makes a squeaking noise when I move around. 2013 w/ 19k miles. Dat Acura quality doe.

by your description, it can only be a few things.
mounts..engine and tranny.
or the tranny's fluid is super thin at start up and you hear/feel vibrations when changing from P to D.
I don't feel anything when I change from P to D. where are the engine mounts I should check? I can't imagine having a cracked engine mount with stock 200bhp and 19k miles, but who knows. Also, it just vibrates for a few seconds then idles fine. Then it starts vibrating again for a few seconds then returns to normal. After this, the seat and the warped interior pieces, I don't think I will buy another Acura.

no, sorry. didnt mean to insinuate that the mounts were broken.
the mounts are vacuumed assisted, which can cause a little vibration under load.
which I think you are feeling, hearing.
normal operation.

Ya, I didn't think the Engine mounts were cracked/broken if the vibration only exists when it's cold. I wasn't sure if its normal because I don't think it existed, or I didn't notice it before. Not sure why Acura thought this was acceptable, its sorta annoying.
