That's kind of funny. However, My dealership is out of my way on any normal day so I'd be fucking livid if I got there after a full day of them having the car and me sitting my ass in Atlanta traffic to get there and then the mechanic told me that BS. I would have picked the world up and dropped it on his fucking head.

The car is amazing, the acceleration is so silky smooth, the car is so quiet. When I floor it the power is like no other. for the size of the vehicle 280 hp is incredible. 0 - 120 in the time it takes me to go 60 - 120 in the 4 cyl like.. literally the turn signal isn't as loud ( minor + ) road noise is next to not there, it rides like air compared to me coil-overs :o).

There isn't anything to complain about the car except it doesn't come in a six speed manual :-P
Tap shifting is no fun for me, I'm not getting in to it. lol i can't tell you how many times i've hit the brake trying to shift haha

Yeah, if it had a 6 speed, it would be the new 3rd Gen TL. I can imagine that car being so nice. Compact and power to weight is amazing, but it needs a 6 speed to even be considered.

the last time i took my Audi for service, they gave me an A5 3.2 with the s-line package. Service was only supposed to take a day but they kept calling me and saying the part they needed was delayed. This happened for 3 days.

i was not complaining :tonguefaw

Probably doesn't feel as nimble in those fast corners, though. Right?

lol, actually i was just thinking about this cause I went up to see my girl who lives in arlington, and i take a lot of back roads to her house through the woods. I was taking turns as fast as I do in my 4cyl which is slammed on 19's and has the edfc coilovers etc.. The car felt no less firm then my 4 cyl on these corners, I was impressed... not to mention the power coming out of the corners.... mmm I definitely had a woody, I pushed it to the limits this morning down 495 around dc and boy.. does it get up and go, I was workin through traffic better then I ever do with the 4 cyl, it can punch through holes quicker and find them smoother because of the power.. I love this car lol

Unfortunately all day friday, the navigation screen wouldn't come on, no matter how many times I turned the car on and off, came on about 5 pm and i had the car running since 6 am

How's the tire noise? Or do you not have the stock tires on your I4 so you can't judge? Trying to decide if I4 or V6 is better and I think the noise may be the deciding factor (And yes, I can scare myself with the I4 so the V6 extra power, while nice, isn't as much of a factor as you might think speed-wise.)

Thanks.

I can echo these sentiments. I've had an 09 tl (same engine) for a loaner on 2 occasions. First time I had it for 4 days and put over a 1000 miles on it. Just a phenomenal car, the power is smooth and stout. The handling is nimble and direct. Way more refined than the 4 cyl TSX. The steering in our cars is junk compared to what they give in the V6 models.

I had the opportunity to do a 10 mile canyon run in my loaner TL. . . it felt more poised and predictable than my Civic Si, the TSX doesn't even compare.

Tire noise? What tire noise? I road on stock tires on my 4cyl for the last 3 months and I could hear the road more then the engine, Its quieter with my aftermarket rims, rides stiffer though..

V6? Tire noise? No, All you can hear is the low rumble of the engine, and when you push down on the pedal its like the 4cyl with a ct icebox, but a lot deeper and pushes you back in your seat farther. I understand what you're tlakin about deadly, I have the 4cyl at around 130 mph more then I do 60, and the 6 cyl is by far a more enjoyable ride.

Power, Sound, Responsiveness, I never noticed what people were talking about with " light steering" in the 4cyl and now that i'm back in my 4cyl I can see how little response you get when you steer, the car just goes arms never get tired nothing.. which i'm sure is nice for the everyday driver.

Being back in the 4cyl for the day I've noticed a lack of power, The loose steering and a few minor differences with the nav updates, which im sure is on the disc not the nav it self ( my disc is 08 )

If the 6cyl came in a 6 speed or even a 5 speed manual, I'd be more then happy to pick it up. If transmission means nothing to you, then by all means I rec the 6 cyl over the 4cyl hands down for quality and power. Seems they have enhanced everything in the cabin noise wise in order to compensate for the louder engine, and they have done a great job. The exhaust also sounds better! :-P

To mucter:

I drove the TL several times and While I liked the power I just didn't like the ride that much or the cornering, nor do i like the way the car looks at all, but yes the 4 cyl is slacking big time, its driving a sexy civic and the 6 cyl is like driving an intro to luxury vehicle.

I agree on the looks. I'd much rather have a v6 TSX over a TL.

The other reason the v6 TSX was quieter for you, ASC. The 4 cyl model doesn't have it.

Taken from Acura.com:

Active sound control is an inventive way to use the audio system to reduce engine noise inside the cabin. Since some engine noise is welcome in a performance vehicle, the system is linked to the throttle position and engine’s rpm to tune the V-6’s sound, based on how it’s being used. The result is remarkably quiet cruising with a satisfying growl upon acceleration.
  • Microphones in the cabin detect low-end drivetrain frequencies. The system then creates a reverse-phase audio signal, which is sent to the door speakers and subwoofer to cancel unwanted engine and exhaust noise.
  • The system is tuned to deliver a quiet cabin at low rpm, some throaty exhaust tone at mid-rpm, and a crisper exhaust note without high frequency harshness during high rpm.
  • The system is always operating even when the audio system is turned off.

I Shouldn't have broke habit and bought a first year model. I made an exception though seeing as the TSX has been out for years..
