Here's hoping for SH-AWD and a 6spd MT

Well, just finished watching the webcast.
I like the look of the vehicle, and the hard disk drive-based Acura Navigation System™ with an all-new 8-inch full VGA high-resolution color display and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic and Weather™ featuring radar image mapping. For the audiophile, the TSX Sport Wagon will be available with an Acura/ELS Surround® Premium Audio System and a hard disk drive (HDD) for media storage.
What I am disappointed is that only 5AT w/ the 2.4L engine available, no 6MT or V6 option.

I'm thrilled that they're keeping it simple. We still sell the RDX for those that need AWD and more power. Fuel economy with cargo capacity fills a void in the Acura (and Honda) line up right now. I'm guessing that the entire TSX lineup will receive the new Navi system for 2011.

^Yes, I am disappointed but given that 6MT model account for less than 10% of TSX sales, for a niche model such as the Sports Wagon, I guess they just really want to keep it simple. Make me appreciate my 6MT model even more. Now, wonder if they can retrofit the HDD system to the 2009/2010 model (or at least the VGA screen).

Reposted from the thread in Car Talk...
Acura site is up.
Obvious changes:
Acura site is up.
Obvious changes:
- VGA navi screen from TL
- I think the contrasting stitching on the seats is new
- Plood in center console from Euro Accord
- Is the metal accent darker or just a difference in lighting?

The wagon does look nice. When I first saw the Accord wagon I didn't like it much but it has grown on me. Give it a V6 and I'll have one in my garage. SH-AWD would be nice but I don't think we will see that here until the end of model.
The RDX is crap. My mother in law has one. The interior is cheap, it uses as much gas as the MDX, has less power, and the power delivery is disappointing to say the least.
I had doubts about Honda playing with turbos when the RDX was first announced. At least I don't have anymore doubts...
Just my though. I'm sure some people love it.

A TSX wagon is perfect for me, I think. I just really wanted AWD for the snow. But the lower center of gravity suits me better than an SUV.
One thing I did like about the RDX was that it seemed to hide the bumps and potholes in the roads better than my 04 TSX. I can't recall if the 09+ TSX is less harsh than the 1G. For the RDX, I don't know if it's a suspension difference, or the tires, but it's not as harsh. I appreciated that a lot. I seem to be tiring of my 04's harshness lately, and the RDX loaner brought that to the forefront for me. Hopefully the TSX wagon addresses that a bit.

Too bad the wagon will not come with 6MT and SH-AWD.
I would have seriously entertained trading in the TL and took the financial loss if the wagon came 6MT and SH-AWD (V6 would help too ). A perfect combination of fun, power, and utility in an all weather vehicle.

Front Bumper is different, and the grill is slightly different as well, has the bottom horizontal trim lines below the main piece.
I would assume these changes will carry over to the TSX sedan...

She said: it's GINORMOUS!
the alfalfa antenna has to go, the dual-tone fogs needs to go, the grille needs to go.
rest of the car is fine. never had any expectations for this car, so no changes are not a surprise.

Okay, I am not a big wagon guy but some hatchbacks look nice to me (and my first car was a HB), and sometimes I can be into them. That being said, though, I don't like quite a few things about this car, ESPECIALLY the solid red taillights...it looks like a big step backwards and reminds me too much of Honda's older vehicles/styles. And I am surprised Acura went this route actually, as almost all of their new vehicles have amber turn signals again. Also, I read recently that the DOT may require all new cars in the U.S. to have amber turn signals by a certain date.
Not my cup of tea but who knows, it may sell...

HORRIBLE grille!
I think that the new grille is even WORSE than the original plenum, which actually was not too bad on the TSX!
This now looks really out of place. What is wrong with them? How could you mix the horizontal lines under the emblem with the honey-comb pattern in the bumper? That is just WRONG! Also, the gap now between the grille and the headlights is just UGLY! PLAIN UGLY......... sigh. I suspect that the new TSX sedan for 2011 will have the same sad grille too? Oh lord, are they going to make the 2011 TL grille even WORSE than now? Sad, sad, sad.....

Love the new front end treatment. Love the new NAV and HDD. Im hoping that the wood trim and rear vents carry over from europe and i alsolike the contrasting stitching on the seats.

So as long as the grille surround is chrome it will look better than the current one if not it will look worse. After seeing these pics im not going to wait for the Golf R to come to america i am getting a 2011 TSX.

The new lower portion of the bumper definitely looks better than the current standard one i think, but the top half hmm, i prefer the larger grille and no gap between the headlights and grille.
The bottom portion looks really classy now i think.

^The new grille looks OK with the black car above and not so much with the blue car. But I do like the lower portion as kimnkk noted.
Personally, I will stick with my Modulo Grille as the new bumper requires the new grille because it extends all the way up to the headlight area and you probably cannot order it paintmatched which will push the cost even higher for retrofit to 2009/2010 model.

I just noticed in the pictures that the door handles on the inside appear to be chrome plated. I really hope they are that is one thing i think is missing from the 2nd gen that the 1st gen had.

Did you see the pictures of the 2011 TSX sedan from the show? Has wood trim, or probably wood-appearing trim, and I think the rear vents you mean.

^^ The Grigio one in the TOV pics show a sedan with the current grill, this makes me think that the sedans in the display/stage were 2010s.

There's some additional interior pics at netcarshow. TOV had pics of a sedan at the show, just assuming it is also a 2011 but could be wrong. I can't tell if the interior pics are the sedan or wagon but then I don't believe there will be a difference between the two in the front seat area.
