Lemoned

Given all the issues- pinging, window moldings, speakers, etc. Has anyone attempted or is in the process of pushing for a lemon law claim?

I think you should read the lemon law requirements. The problem has to put the driver and their passengers in danger-such as transmission problems. You then have to follow the procedures that your state requires. Of course you can always try.

Lemon laws are specific to your state. Check the "Consumer Information" booklet that came with the car, and it should spell out some of your rights by state.

Usually though, the problem has to be specific to one issue that can't be fixed after three attempts, and is one that affects the operation of the vehicle. So often, accessories such as speakers do not fall under the lemon law guidelines.

These are minor issues considering it's the first year of the 2G. I'm sure Honda/Acura will fix these problems in the 2010 models. Perfection is an illusion.

Thanks for the replies. I only ask because I am currently in the final stages of getting my claim completed with Honda due to the unknown front-end engine noise and Honda's inability to provide the court with evidence that it is not causing damage that will impact the value and safety of the car in the future. Honda claims it is working on a software fix, but the specs and performance will be impacted due to the "upgrade". Now the lawyers are just attempting to finalize the usage exception deduction for the 2,700 odd miles I have on the car. Both sides are negotiating which calculation will be used.

I agree that the noise is more then what Acura is admiting to. I put 95 octane in my wifes car and the noise seemed to go away. I filled it up the other day and put 92 in it and am now waiting to see if the noise comes back. Both of our TSXs make the noise and both are 6MT. It is a bit of a concern especially if it is knocking. Which we all know substantially reduces engine life.

Please let us know what comes out of the court battle. What Acura does for you etc. If you are able to that is.
