Just bought a 2011 TSX!

Hey everyone I just wanted to step in and welcome myself to the TSX forum for the first time!

I've been poking around in threads for the past few hours and trying to learn some things about what I just bought.

So far I dont seem to see any real issues? I do have some questions though like a typical noob.

As far as the rear brakes I read that acura has a TSB out because the installed the wrong slide pins or that they are upside down and that causes premature wear and brake issues. Is this a 2011 issue?

What other issues might I expect from my 2011? Its a 2.4 auto non tech model. Black on black leather.

and yes the upgrade bug already bit me... trying to get floor mats, trunk liner, cargo net and splash guards if anyone has them for sale...

Thanks for any tips!

Rear brake pad wear has been an issue with all TSX models years, since the beginning. Some of it is by design, some of it depends on the kind of driving you do (all highway, and they'll last forever). I don't know if the 2nd gen issue with it pertains to your car, but I've never worried (or cared) about it; they're (brake pads) easy and cheap to replace. My stock advice to anyone who has a new (or new to you) car is to study the owner's manual; it should be job one.

It's true. My old TSX 09 had it bad, and as I was driving to the shop to get the pads replaced (if I babied it I was told I wouldn't need new rotors) a deer jumped out in front of me and I slammed on the brakes. Worst noise of my life. Pads+rotors.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

Weathertech fitted mats if you can afford them and if you need them in your area/weather permitted.

Word of caution on those Ebay Chinese mud flaps ... Mine busted last winter. Went through an unplowed street, hit something hard, and both fronts shattered in pieces. Could have been the really cold weather, could've been other factors. Got OEM CBP flaps from a local owner for free in the spring. OEM's feel more flexible/pliable than the Ebay ones. They almost feel like its a hard plastic. You get what you pay for. (They are also unpainted. OEM's are color matched).

I also have Ebay LED's, but not the package deal. If you have other cars, might as well research and see what bulbs fit across the range and buy in bulk. I was able to do the TSX, Rav4, and STI interrior and license plate bulbs for about $15.00

Happy modding!
