I've got the price I want, now what?

I just got off the phone with Mick Williams from the same Chevy Chase Acura (Maryland). After crunching the numbers here's their offer for TSX with Tech:

Invoice ($30,224) - $500 - $750 (dealer cash incentive) = $28,974 (subtotal)

+ 228 (TTL) + 100 (processing fee) + 6% Tax (Maryland) ($1738.44) = $31,040.44

I'm satisfied with the price, but was wondering where I should go from there. For instance I really want a deck lid spoiler. That's the only option that I really want to have. When do I bring that up? And should I get other options (such as Aerokit) done after I purchase the car through a bodyshop or try to get it done through the dealer?

I like the price but I'm afraid that they are going to try to stick it to me with the options. And they also usually have cars in stock with options I don't necessarily want. Just wanted to get your guys opinions.

You are too paranoid. You got a great deal on the car. You should be fine. Look up the prices on the Honda eStore for your accessories. That will give you a great idea on the price. Are you financing?

Yeah, nows a good time to negotiate the price of a car if you can afford it. You got a good price, don't get too wrapped up in it, enjoy the car to the fullest.

I'm thinking of buying it straight cash, but the dealer said that he would show me the two options I have. The problem is that the $ for the car is in a fund that doesn't mature until August. So if I pull the money out now, I'll take a $700 hit.

Or I could take advantage of 0.9% financing and then eat the interest until August. I think in the end it ends up being around the same.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm a newbie in the Acura community and this car is my first ticket in!

IF you get accesories installed when you buy the car they come with the 4 yr 50000 mile warranty - otherwise standard 12/12000 warranty. Work the price of the spoiler and kit into the price of the car but only offer to pay dealer cost.

good thinking here! plus, when you finance through acura, that's when they're willing to throw you a deal. when paying cash the house gets less money

The only issue that you're getting the $750 dealer cash offer so you shouldn't be eligible for the 0.9% unfortunately, though...it is (but maybe now "was"?) an either/or offer. I'd check into that to be 100% certain and my gut tells me that w/ how bad sales have been, dealers have a lot of leeway right now and could do both offers.

Just buy the car. You got the price you want so take it.

In regards to the options, I was able to negotiate getting the decklid spoiler and Areo kit at dealer cost. They installed the decklid spoiler for me since you need a special tool do drill holes into the trunk lid and did that for free, but I installed the whole Aero kit myself.

0.9 and dealer cash are still mutually exclusive and cannot be combined. If someone were to combine them, they would have to 'write down' the APR and take the loss out of the profit. Since there doesn't appear to be any profit left, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

That is a great price. You can always use a credit union for better rates than the dealership and longer terms.

We call it the 'Paradise Tax" Seriously, our store charges the cars with PDI and the pro pack when the cars arrive. Add in the safety check and you're at 4-500. If I were to buy one, I'd get invoice minus dealer cash plus PDI.

Yea I hated that at my Acura dealer they threw $495 pro packs. They don't do that at Benz kind of weird.
