I can't believe this is really going to happen, my first NEW car!

Certified check will be written out tomorrow.
Papers will be signed Friday.
I drive in with my 1993 Camry, and i'll be driving out with my 2009 TSX.
Put down 15K, and with 5.39% APR over 60 months, my payments will be ~$265 a month.

I thank my parents and friends tremendously and will take no moment for granted!

Congrats on your purchase. My wife has had hers for 6 weeks and we love everything about it. I'm looking forward to the drive to Vegas tomorrow.

Congrats - that's a good deal. $265 x 60 months = $15,900 + $15,000 (down) = $30,900. They may be giving you a grand or two for your Camry to cover tax + license, but that's a great deal any way you slice it.

For that price, I'm assuming you're getting a base model (no Tech package). Base MSRP is $28,960 + $760 destination = $29,720.

The present value of a 60-month 5.39% $265/month loan is $13,910.45, which means that with your $15,000, you paid $28,910.45 total for the vehicle (this is even better if tax + license are factored in here).

So you approximately paid $809.55 ($29,720 - $28,910.45) under MSRP for your new 2009 TSX...not bad

Important questions.........What color inside and out and did you get the tech package? Did you get better rims or a spoiler included?

thank you everyone! and nice analysis type34!

tmetcalf, car is bone stock, no tech or anything. i already have a garmin nuvi 260W (which i love)

the backup camera IS nice though to have

i am in love with the decklid spoiler so i will def have that added later, when i get some $$$.

clear bra + tints come first

and i think im one of the few here that likes the stock rims (puts flame suit on )

I would test the electronics to see that everything is in working order. Check gauges, power seats, power locks, buttons, lights, gas door release, lights, turn signals, etc. Also it's good to check fit and finish, listen for rattles, excessive squeaking, etc.

I don't think the TSX has too much problem with reliability or initial quality. All of the cars come from the same plant in Japan. There isn't much reason to worry. But still, it's worth checking some of the minor details to make your particular car isn't plagued by quality problems.

Check the right side of the driver's lower seat cushion (up against the center console). On some cars including mine, the clip that holds the leather seat cover down is not clipped to the seat frame. There was a TSB issued for it so the dealer should have already checked it out but just keep an eye out for it.

There were also TSB's issued for the gas filler door not opening properly so play with the fuel door while you're there. Also check the cup holder door and make sure that opens smoothly.

yeah, I was going to mention that.

1. cupholder cover sticks
2. gas cap lid sticks (have to touch it to open anyway, yuk)
3. clip not secured on leather seat cover

and

4. many complaints of clearcoat flaking off in small areas

another complaint or two of very poor initial wax, causing "permenant" water spots.

Congrats, my first car was also a TSX. I got it in July of 06 and love it. Mine is still completely all stock but a blast to drive. Enjoy!

Good thing you guys pointed out those TSBs. My seat leather was indeed unclipped when I checked. My fuel door seems fine. It stuck like 1 time out of 10 times I tested it. It's really just a bad design - bring back the interior button to open it. No paint issues and my cupholder door is fine.

I just pulled on it really hard until I got it on the piece of metal it's intended to clip onto just beneath it. Takes a good amount of force and you feel like you're about to tear it off - but it holds.

I don't know where the links are either.

If you're sitting in the seat if you look down to the left in between the seat and the console, that's where it is. You'll see a clearish-white piece of plastic sitting there if it's not clipped on. If you see nothing, that means the clip is in place in your car.

Whoops, I meant look down to your right in between the seat and the center console if you're sitting in the seat ( I said left originally because it was to my left when I clipped it back on from a kneeling position on the seat - you can't get enough leverage to do it while seated).

I just checked mine and its not clipped in. So you just pull up on the bolster really hard and it pops in to place correct?

Grip the plastic clip piece itself and pull it until you can clip it onto the thin black metal frame on the bottom of the seat just below where you see the clip. There isn't much give, so it takes a lot of force. You have to pull so hard, it feels like you might tear the damn thing off the leather, but you won't - it's very strong. It may take a few tries to get it on. Even though I'm right-handed, I found it easier to do itwith my left hand while kneeling on the seat.

I have no idea what that is, but if it ain't loose and everything's working, don't worry about it.
