How to replace 6speed shift knob?
hey peeps i am having trouble removing the stock shift knob from my 6 speed. yes thats pretty sad.
i used to have a honda 6speed and to replace the knob all i needed to do was get a wrench to loosen the nut underneath the knob.... the acura however only has a round washer which i cant get a grip on and there is no nut for me to put a wrench on? any suggestions?

That's the link for installing interior trim, go to page 3 and you will see how to pull down the shift boot with retaining tabs and use a 17mm wrench to loosen the knob. I installed my Euro Honda knob (my avatar) that way.

i've already bought two aftermarket shift knobs for my 6spd. A TWM M1 Abrams and the skunk2 knob haha. It was really hard to take off the oem knob cause of that black nut at the bottom..but I used a wrench to hold it in one spot as I used all my might to slowly turn the knob off. Due to that nut, it's actually very hard to turn the knob. Just take your time with it. Once you get the knob off, itll be easy. I permanently took the nut off so my knob sits lower. I forget all the steps, but I think I had to cut a zap strap to get the nut off, which made my shift boot sag. Just zap strap it back again after you take off the nut.
