Hot air blowing through vents with no heater on
?????? Any explanations? Is it just the heat from the engine entering the vents?

If you leave the HVAC at a temp warmer than ambient, the outside air will be warmed as it comes through the vents when the HVAC is off.

You could hit the recirculate button also.
