Homelink issue

I have setup my Homelink successfully with my 09 TSX and my Genie garage door system (rolling codes). However, after do so I can't get my other vehicle Toyota Highlander with Homelink to work at the same time. For some reason, I can only learn 1 vehicle at a time. Is it necessary to use 2 unique garage door opener/remotes for 2 different vehicles?

rmastbro....You may have to try to get someone to help you and have both vehicles learn the codes at the same time...in other words, have someone press the learn button on the garage opener, and have someone in each vehicle pressing the homelink buttons as you have a very limited time to get it done. I had some problems with my remotes losing their programming when I set my homelink. The one I had in my g/f car worked OK but I have a friend who has our remote (for emergency) and that remote became un-programmed when I set my homelink. I had to get all three synchronized again. That is something you could try, if that fails, not sure else to tell you other than maybe calling the 1-800 on the homelink section.....Good luck!

Is it 2009 already?

Sorry, I don't have anything else useful to contribute to this thread.

One thing I don't like about homelink for the 04-08 TSX is the system still works when the key is not in the car. I usually park my cars in the garage. There was a person at my work and someone broke into their car outside of their house. Then they used the garage door opener to get into the house while they are sleeping. I now use a keychain remote for my Honda Accord, just incase I have to park outside and I always park the TSX in the garage.

Is the homelink disabled when the key is out on the 09 TSX?

mrgold35...Not sure, I am at work right now but will have to check it out. One thing for sure, my TSX is always in the garage and although my g/f remote is in her car (which is in the driveway), we always lock the door from the garage that connects to the house...but you brought a real good point and will now take the key out of the ignition of my TSX and bring inside the house as they could still open the garage door, then drive away with my TSX....Grrrr, why do we always have to worry about losers!!

Problem solved...

I had to press the 'learn' button on the Genie remote for 10 seconds to clear out all the codes. Once I did this I was able to reprogram my Toyota Highlander and Acura TSX.
