Headlight Question

I read that my TSX comes with D2S headlight capsules.

I have a brand new set of Phillips 85122+ I bought for another project but never used them.

Question: Would they be an improvement over the OEM or the same OR?

TIA.

The TSX has one of the best headlighting systems out there. It is unlikely that those bulbs would be an improvement. Hang on them and use them as as spares if your OE bulbs fail 100k miles down the road.

I think that is what the OEMs are. Could be wrong.

They are the same type with identical specifications. The aftermarket one claims that while it uses the same 35w ballast and has the identical color temp (4300k), it puts out 300 lumens over a stock bulb. It then goes on to say that these high output bulbs are used by Acura, BMW and a list of other companies as OE.

I'd suspect that there is zero difference. If there is a difference, I'd suggest that it isn't enough of a difference to warrant the change.

haha yea i'm with ceb on this...the effort to swap out the bulbs (easy or not) for a chance of 300 lumens? meh i'd pass and just hold on to them until a bulb blows out.
