Greetings from a newbie
Hi all,
I just picked up a 2009 PMM TSX with Tech 5AT on Saturday. Thought I'd drop in and say hello. No mods planned as of yet, since this is just a daily driver for me.
I do have one question though... I'm a bonehead and scratched the leather on the shift knob. It's like I took a piece of the leather off somehow. Anyone know how I can repair the leather without it looking really nasty? I know this sounds like the ghetto repair, but I tried "coloring" in the scratch with a sharpie, but he ink just rubbed right off.
Thanks for any suggestions...

Welcome to the forum. Here's the link for installation of AT shift knob. http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/AI/bii39071.pdf
I would go ahead and purchase the sports shift knob as replacement. Both std and sports version cost US$122 and can be ordered for as low as $91.50 online.

Haha... My ride is completely stock as of now... No need to post pics, just head over to Acura.com and look at a polished metal picture. I'll post a pic of the knob after I replace it with a sport knob...

The next thing to try to fix the shift knob while you wait for the new one is a small amout of black shoe polish on a toothbrush. I would only brush in one direction though. This will help prevent the polish from going everywhere from the back and forth motion that normal brushing causes.

Shoe polish is only useful for hard leather, like on dress shoes. I would try mink oil before buying a new knob. That stuff is what always fixes scratches and scrapes on my soft leather shoes, belts, jackets, briefcases, etc.
