One of my Dad's friend was over today drinking and he saw my car and he starts rambling about a Gforce chip on his civic and swears by it...

I have no experience with ecu chip mods nor do I trust ramblings of an old man..

Show me a dyno graph. I've seen so many of these miracle ECU chips and after doing some basic research I remain skeptical. If they really worked, everyone would have one no?

 

only ECU chips/tuning I've seen that truly works and worth the $ are the ones tailored for Audis.

Yeah, the Audi chips work wonders for Acura.

You won't believe me because it is the ramblings of an old man, but chips (assuming they actually do anything) can only do anything with a forced induction engine or one with other significant mods and you write that flash for a specific purpose.

Audi, BMW, VW chips work by increasing the pressure produced by the turbo, forcing the turbo to work harder and (oftentimes) causing early failures)

ECU mods are a waste of money for NA cars.

these "chips" that are sold to us, are just simple resistors that "trick" the ECU.
What we find on the Honda's is that, these "tricks" get re-flashed by the OEM ECU.
any parameters changed will get re-written. The A/F ratio will always remain the same.
thus; why these "chips" never work.
