Hey everybody, just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts of putting some Techron (fuel system cleaner) into my new Tsx. Got her brand new with 1 mile on her. Now at about 6,000 miles. Wanted to put it in before I do my first oil change (30% left) switching to purolator filoter and Mobil 1 0w-20.

I figure it would be good to put in to keep it always clean every time before I do an oil change. Or is it not needed and maybe harmful since everything is new in there (seals and rings) and I put 93 octane in her. I was always worried it caused my seals to leak in my old civic since i put it in every oil change. Maybe even the Mobil 1 caused the old leaks, I hear synthetics sometimes cause leaks.

My mpg do not seem great, used to say 500 mi to empty and now it says like 408 sometimes, avg 25.4 according to the computer which means probably less in real life. Seems like not great mileage, but 50/50 mix of city and highway. Plus I like to gun it now and then.

Why?

If you want techron to clean your fuel system, just run Chevron fuel with it already in (I do). Techron additive actually does work, but adding it to a brand new car's fuel really won't do anything, though it won't hurt either. That stuff isn't cheap..
