Fuel efficiency of V6

I usually get around 8.0L/100km or 29.4mpg on the highway on my V6 Tech TSX. Today, when I was on my way back home from my parent's house, I decided to see how fuel efficient this car is by being easy on the gas pedal.

6.6L/100km or 35.6mpg Not bad for a v6!

Enjoy yours as much as you can.
My I4 is 25 mpg average with grandma-style driving.
If driving more aggressive, its mpg drops a lot more.

Not entirely but that's the average of each tank for my routine commute round trip between home and work. I would say 70%/30% local/highway, respectively however, these "local roads" are 45mph limit, single lane.
Average speed displayed on the MID is 29mph.
And yes, 25mpg is all I got.

TSX mileage etc.

Can't speak yet for highway mpg for my 2011 I-4 TSX. It;s average 25 + around local driving rarely above 50mph and alot of stop/go.
Funny but our 2003 TL got 32-33 on trips and local about 22mpg. V6, Reg. gas. Sold it.
We also have an 07 ES350. V6. again in the 32-33mpg highway and roughly 22 local. Amazing how close they were.
Hoping for 32-34 on highway in TSX. but no longterm highway miles since we bought end of 2010. Hopefully soon.

I am averaging 27+ in mixed driving. Most of my HWY driving happens in an area where there are hills. When I had my V6 Accord, I got about 23 mpg under the same conditions.

I hope to get closer to 30 once the car breaks in a little more. Right now, I'm driving like a maniac, getting used to the feel of the new car.

^probably not the EXACT same, but a 3.5 variant based on the RL and the type-s TL.

I believe it. 2nd generation TL's could get low 30's without a problem.

I have a V6 and I really doubt it can get that high of a MPG. You won't really know until you do the math...miles travelled divided by gas used.

I don't really trust the trip computer 100%.

Sure, but 5mpg is a pretty big margin.

How did you manage that? The highest I've ever gotten was about 28mpg, but average usually around 24

very possible, and that is without very much computing power in the ecu either, compared to the newest cars either (or how many years of additional development)

BUT i will say though it does not happen all that often though, normally it's high 20's

I have an I4 and the best I got was just today at 33.1mpg (hwy). This was a 200mi+ trip with an average speed of 60-70mph.

Without knowing the driving conditions and if the MID was checked (liters/km) the number is not valid.

I can drive my I4 on 40-45 mph roads in my area with minimal stops and exceed 36 mpg if I am careful. But that is a sweet spot of the engine/trans. In my normal commute (about 50/50) I am averaging 28/29 being very easy on it and 26/27 driving a little more aggressively. I am very happy with this mileage from an I4 in a heavy car.

I got this with 95% highway driving at 50% (95km/h) and 50% (115km/h). The roads were dry and there wasn't much wind. I used cruise control pretty much the whole time. I have so far gotten just over 400km with my fuel gauge exactly at 1/2. Once I refuel I will check how accurate the MID.

i agree.

i avg 25-26 mpg on 80/20% highway/city driving. thats 430 miles on 16 gallons of fuel.

some v6's can be surprisingly fuel effiecient, AS long as you can stay out of the throttle (and normally they are installed in heavier cars, which also means worse MPG too)
