Yeah first was free here, too. On the second I had two speakers replaced, oil/filter, rotate & balance, new wipers, cut rear rotors, cut front rotors on the car, F&F the trans, detail, fuel system cleaner, non corrosive terminal pads, blah blah & it was $200. (Their 7500 mile deal)

Regular oil/filter is like $40 or something?

Acura won't give you the first service for free. If you have such a perk it is compliments of the dealership.

Just had my 1st service (A1) and it wasn't free. Dealer charged me $69.99.

Considering the prices some are paying (by what they post here), I'd have to imagine that such perks will start to disappear. Our store has already moved owner clinics to once every two months, cut free oil changes for new owner clinic attendees, cut sales guys off of free coffee and canceled an airlines mileage perk for money spent in service.

Wait, NO FREE COFFEE!

Some dealerships offer the first one free of charge but not many do anymore. Truth is dealerships are overpriced for a simple oil and filter change.

I'd find an independent, knowledgeable and competent mechanic if you can't do your oil change yourself.

most of my oil changes have been free but the few that I had to pay for averaged $26.00-$30.00 including tax. (at the dealer)

I won't be taking the car to the dealer for the first service, but instead perform the oil change myself. Looking into synthetic oil slike Mobil 1 or ENEOS.

Just did my 1st oil & filter change at 4k mi. (I did NOT reset the 60% oil life, but will do so at the 2nd oil change when the oil life shows 10%).

Put in three quarts of Mobil 1 5W-20 and one qt of Mobil 1 0W-40 (left over from my A4). And now the engine seems to make less noise, when cold, compared to the factor fill.
