First Roadtrip Notes
How have your road trip experiences been with the 2009 TSX?
I took my stock '09 on its first road trip this weekend (6hr roundtrip) and wanted to share a few notes:
I took my stock '09 on its first road trip this weekend (6hr roundtrip) and wanted to share a few notes:
- I topped out at 29.3MPG, including 1 hr of bumper to bumper traffic due to construction during departure.
- Cruise control worked exceptionally well.
- It has a DECEL button which I previously had not discovered.
- Overall ride I would give an A-
- Wiper blades were put to the test due to rainy weather and passed with flying colors
- I did note that the highest setting on the manual dial was nearly identical to the secondary setting

I still have 130 miles left until an empty tank according to my car's system and I am loving the fact that I won't have to refuel until mid-week.
I also spent 320 miles in mine yesterday. Just driving the 65mph limit and a couple passing stints to 80mph. MID average was 35.7 mpg so I figure it got about 34 mpg. Pleanty of instant passing power for me. A most pleasurable ride and being 6'6" my back did not hurt after sitting for so long. Can't say that for my MDX or my last Accord.

it's a car-drive it
Glad you seem to be enjoying your 09 tsx as much as I do my 06. They are very comfortable riding cars. Have been on two cross-county roadtrips (6,000+ miles each time), going on another one on the 25th (NC to WA). Travel from NC to NJ (635 miles) and then back every few weeks. My car now has 73,000+problem free miles. I am now saving up for my next acura (either another tsx or the tl with MT). Plan on buying it 4/2010

Had my first long trip since I got my car in December: Sacramento to SF/San Jose, nearly 2 hours peaked at 36.5mpg on the MID. Highest miles till empty was 550. I like how the miles till empty indicator adjusts itself accordingly. If I'm getting really good mpgs, the miles till empty will actually increase. On my other car the miles till empty, regardless of better mpgs, stays the same or drops.
