I have 40k miles on my 10' TSX and the tires while not completely shot have started to dry rot. So anyone have some favorite tires they'd recommend? I'll need them before winter.

Couple things:
I live in NYS so I'll need a decent all-season
I prefer a quieter tire
I like the stock sides that capture the tire shine more than a flat surface
Should handle decent.
Nothing too expensive.

I put a set of these on a month ago, and am happy so far. Mostly highway driving, with a little horseplay once in a while...the car feels good with them.

I'm also due for a new set of all season tires. I have the oem michelin pilot hx mxm4 which I find to be quite noisy on older/rough surfaces.

I'm looking for a tire that is quiet and smooth riding with good enough handling while not sacrificing dry/wet braking and grip. Ultimately all tires are a compromise between those qualities and choosing the suitable tire would be the one that is optimized towards my qualities.

From my search I come across a couple of grand touring tires:

Continental PureContact and Pirelli P7 Cintuarto All Season Plus.

 

If you want to stay with Michelin, visit their site and use their interactive tool to help select a set of tires. The Premiere A/S and the Primacy MXM4 are good choices, but as with all Michelins, they tend to be pricey.

I went with the Pirelli Cinturatos a few months ago. They ride great and were noticibly quieter than the OEM michelins.

The Pirellis look like a really nice tire when I checked them out @ Costco. Might try a set next time.


I never really buy for a quiet factor, since I always have the stereo up while driving....hardly know what normal noises the car makes, LOL


I had really good luck with the Champiro GT Radials on my TL-S, Don't come in the TSX size in my area though, or I would have bought the brand again. They have the 225/50/17 in the US as far as I can tell.

 

How are these tires in the wet? Tirerack testing says there is definite room for improvement. I'm wondering how your experience compares.

 

<p>Continental DWS did great for me as an all season tire. Handled itself well in the snow. The DWS06 are the new replacements.</p>

The limited experience in the wet was substantially better than the stock michelins. I had a few steady hours of driving in an absolute downpour and I never wanted more grip. They were, quite frankly, excellent.
