European Lane Change turn signals?

Just curious, after driving my buddies Mercedes, and having just visited Europe and learning that any car imported into Europe has to be fitted with the lane change feature (just push the turn signal lever and it will automatically flash 3 times without holding the lever) I was wondering if this was something as simple as a european spec flasher or if it's more complicated than that.

Thanks in advance!

idk about you guys but i kind of feel like its a pointless feature. i have my signal on as long as i am using it and then i flick it off...its just reflexive for me.

i have a german car with the 3 time flicker and whenever i drive it i never find myself using the tap...

just my two cents

if it captured your heart though maybe you could buy a turn signal canceller and mod it to work on our cars : )

While I do appreciate your opinion, if anyone has the actual answer I would rather have that than a statement of why you do or don't think it is something I should or shouldn't be doing. This site is amazing for getting and sharing information but it would be nice if the opinion posts could at least come after someone who is knowledgeable has had the chance to answer. After that, opinion away. This isn't facebook. Sorry to sound like a jerk but I see threads hijacked all the time with pointless posts that are so off topic the original question is completely lost.

I'm sure its a little more involved than simply replacing with the Euro-Spec turn signal module. I am not sure if any Honda products utilize this feature currently.

That said, it's actually a nice feature that more and more cars are utilizing (from Hyundai and Ford to Mercedes and BMW). Of course, around SoCal nobody uses they blinkers anyway! Ha! I feel like I'm the only one most days...

I think the blinker fluid is probably an issue. I know our HID's require it, also. I love our HID's, they provide excellent visibility; however, I wish they were auto-leveling like those of the BMW 7-Series.

My volvo had this feature. I liked it because it effortlessly gave notice that i was changing lanes. That being said, I can manage without, but it was cool.
