Escort Live kills my TPMS
Just an FYI...
2010 Acura TSX using Escort Live (EL) on an Android phone (Motorola Droid Pro).
After I started using the EL my TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) would periodically fail on trips over 30 minutes or so. 30 minutes is when the TPMS will show failure if it does not recieve a signal from a wheel.
I did not put the timeline together until after my 3rd trip to the dealer for this issue and they had a major discussion with "Acura Tech" and asked about aftermarket "transmitter and recievers" in the car.
I tested it myself and can get it to fail with the EL synced (is not a problem when not synced) but it will not fail when it is unplugged.
It does not fail when the same phone is synced to the car's system (phone).
I can live with the issue now that I know what causes it but thougtht I would give others a "heads up".
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the heads up, mine just started doing this today. The strange thing is I have had EL for 3 weeks now with no issues. The only thing i did diffrent today was stream Pandora and had the iphone pluged in to the EL port charge.
You saved me a trip to the dealer, Thanks. As soon as i unpluged EL from the outlet the TPMS started working fine.

Detectors equipped with Escort Live have the ability to give other Escort Live users a heads up of whats ahead. Lets say you have EL and there's another EL user 5 miles ahead of you. The detector goes off in the guy 5 miles ahead of you and the detector notes that location automatically via GPS. Your phone/detector will know that you will be coming up to that location and give you an early warning.
I was originally going to pick one up so I can link my S3 up to it, but I don't think there are many EL users out there. Its also subscription based.
Waze is a free app that does pretty much the same thing, but people have to manually note locations. Waze will notify you of cops, accidents, realtime traffic, etc.

On the way home I get NO TPMS light while still streaming Pandora but, I'm not plugged in to the EL charger on iPhone I'm plugged into the USB in the center armrest. So is it that simple? Just don't plug into the EL unit?
