EBC Brakes on the V6
EBC Brakes on the V6
After listening to my rear brakes disintegrate for the past month I finally got around to installing EBC Ultimax USR slotted rotors along with Red Stuff pads front and rear. A HUGE improvement in stopping distance. I haven't measured it but I have a 30 mile commute on a freeway where 80 to 0 mph is a common occurrence and the seat-of-my-pants measurement says probably a 20-30% improvement over stock. And with only 500 miles on them they aren't quite bedded in yet according to EBC, so I haven't pushed the envelope yet.
Very linear feel and quiet, without squeal or the droning sound I've heard with other slotted rotors. They've been shedding a bit more than stock but EBC says that's to be expected until the break-in surface coating on the pads wears off.
The down side is that for monetary reasons I had to swap to a set of OEM Michelins I had kicking around since my Yokis wore down to the carcass. Big difference, They're fine on the highway but I feel like I'm plowing around corners on back roads. Anyhow, so far so good with the brake package. Highly recommended.
