Disappointing...
Wow. I'm very disappointed.
I was really hoping Acura would differentiate the new TSX from the Euro Accord overseas by giving us a different dashboard and bigger wheels, like they did with the 1G TSX. Acura didn't bother to do anything this time around, literally rebadging the Accord... I was also hoping they would make the tailights all red instead of keeping the cleared signal lights.
Instead, the only differences are the emblems and the front grill. I guess at least it'll make it very easy to JDM-ify the car.
Looks like I'm keeping my 05...

I guess if I was waiting for the 09 to come out I would be disappointed. Aside from the performance aspect of the car, I like the rear design.
IMO, the front (grill) is not very attractive, I prefer the first generation design much more in that respect, but overall the car looks more sportier.
I'm happy I purchased an 08 though instead of waiting around for the 09.

6MT or Death
You're definitely not alone. I don't like the size, styling, or driving characteristics of the TL, so I really wanted the 2ndGen TSX to be my next car when I decide to sell my 06.
I figured I'd do that in about 2011 or 2012, and by then the initial bugs would be worked out of the diesel system and maybe some other goodies would be tossed in. After seeing the interior and exterior of this car it just depresses me. I won't be buying another Acura unless 2014 brings a change that actually IS an upgrade in style and performance.
At this point I have no faith that will be the case.

I think the 09 rear with the 06-08 front end would have made a sweet looking car, the 09 front isnt that nice though...maybe they'll make a sweet oem or euro-r kit for it to help it out

definitely, exterior wise honda just needed to change the rear styling of the car imo, add some more HP and torque.

agreed.
Boy, did they $crew the pooch on this one. The top three reasons people make the decisions they do about cars are price, appearance and performance. Meanwhile, on the entry level "high end" Acura we have:
- Technology that was already old hat at BMW when my 2002 325CI rolled off the line (a car that I still own, btw, still looks awesome, and which serves me very well).
- Bland appliance-like exterior styling
- Cheapened interior details and that horrifying center console.
- Less overall power and more weight
- And all that for more money than an accord EX V6.
What really needs an overhaul is Honda.
I'm deeply disappointed.

I can easily think of at least 5 cars from Acura's competitors that I would rather have than this barely changed "new" TSX with a mighty UGLY grille!
Yup, it's a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!

If they were smart they would have released different variations, gathered feedback and went back to the design center rather than just keeping it a secret and unloading it on everyone (this is what you get, take it or leave it). I'll leave it.

I was hoping for a smaller, personal sized 2+2 similar to IS250 or MB 300 Sport.

Accord supposes to be larger than Civic. So the new Civic grows, Accord has to be bigger.
BTW, I admire Civic's flat rear floor. Why it's not on our car?

I think I've moved into the "Acceptance" phase and accept it for the fugly mobile that it is.
Unfortunately there is never a "I'll grow to like it and rationalize like crazy till I like it" phase.

i'm with you guys. i viewd the pictures on auto blog
http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-...reveal/707674/
and i just don't like it. the front end is not very appealing to me. i'll drive my 2006 into the ground and then i guess i'll be picking a new car. well, by then, i'll need something bigger anyways probably.

09 TSX: 186.2 in.
08 TSX: 183 in.
Accord: 194 in. (!!!)
Camry: 189 in.
The tsx is getting slightly bigger and wider though at 72.5. I'm scared for the new TL then...

This thread reminds me of the 3G TL thread when everyone was complaining about the "new" TL replacing the old 2G TL and how it was this an that, then there was one on when the 3G TL-S debuted and how the waffle wheels were ugly and how it was waste of acura's time etc. Look at the 3G now. It's highly sought after.

when i was first told about the 2nd gen, i didn't like it and was kinda upset. my father owned a 2008 TSX and i loved it. i actually didn't even put it on my list of cars to consider for my 17th birthday. the day before i leased my 2010, i was nearly set on either a Subaru Legacy or a Volvo S40. then my dad told me just to test drive the 2010. next day went to Acura, test Drove it. LOVED IT. got a price on it from the dealership. went home, called around, spoke to Stu from Ramsey, and went in that same day to sign everything.
NOT A SINGLE FRIGGING REGRET as most know, i loved it enough to release a 2013 TSX

That's why I banking on the TLX to be a hit. Change inevidable, but as time goes on our perception changes. I've read on here how timeless the 3G is, but looking at threads (revived threads) from 03-04, it was talked about mainly negatively.
#35
Luckily in 2010 I ignored the really negative posts on here and just went with the car because I actually liked the way it looked from the beginning. The TL I still haven't come around to, the back is just too weird looking. But was funny to see all the complaints and just wanted to see if anyone who was that almost angry at the new design still feels the same.

from the looks of it, the 1G JDM accord had the same/too similar looking dash as the USDM accord, so they had more of a reason to swap the interior from the Inspire for the tsx. since the 2009+ has a different interior from its corresponding USDM accord, they didn't need to

Still disappointing. Who would buy a 2g TSX when you can buy a fully loaded Corolla or Focus?

So.....I bought my '10 (in July 2010) without even taking it for a test drive! ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
The car was on the lot, but since it had just been taken off the truck it wasn't in the inventory, so we couldn't test drive it!
