Debating a TSX wagon

Currently have a 2002 RL which has been great. Just wondering if the leg space for rear passengers is a lot less? Have two boys 5 and 7 that like to move around in the back a bit (when car is parked).

Numbers don't lie, but there's nothing like experience. Take your kids to an Acura dealer and stick them in the back seat.

I have an 05RL and the 11 TSX Wagon. The RL has much better rear seat leg room, but you would expect that. If you want to get a normal sized person to sit comfortably in the back seats of the wagon, you almost HAVE to move the front seats up a bit once the front passengers are seated.

We have a TSX Wagon replacing a Pilot, and I have an Accord 07. No comparison for space behind the front seats... or foot well.... the Pilot, huge... the Accord very accommodating, the TSX tight...it may not be a car for a GROWING family...

We only cart around a 7 year old, one small Aussie and bikes so we can make the junk fit..still working on finding a rear hitch so I can recycle my Bike Rack...

I completely agree with that last statement. However, the openness of the wagon may seem to change my perspective of how small the back seat feels.

do you ever get laid in your car? i did in the sedan and it was very uncomfortable even with the driver and passenger seat pushed all the way forward,

thats why i gave the 2G Tsx an 8/10 in my latest review

For kids, and short rides with adults the space is fine. I drove 3 co-workers to lunch last week and they had enough room for that ride. Now 4 adults driving 400+ miles and it wouldn't be as comfortable. With 2 kids b/w 5-7 years old the room should be plenty JMO

Go to a dealer and try it out

I'd say it's a night and day difference. I have such a hard time getting into the back seat of my car when compared to say a Camry or an Accord (about the size of an RL, right?). It just feels effortless on cars of that size.

Or, it could just be the way the doors are designed nowadays. I was at the dealership and hard a hard time getting into a ZDX, too. I'm only 5'9"...

Great! I will have many questions, I'm sure. For one, how does it feel driving the RL and then the wagon. Does it feel gut-less with the 4 cyl? I am still hoping that Acura comes out with a 6 speed manual version paired with the 4 cyl or a 6 cylinder with the auto.

It's not as gutless as you would think. It seems to have at least adequate power at all times, there is even a decent surge of power towards the top end. The wagon feels much lighter in the nose, far less understeer. I would actually consider it fun to drive, I imagine some better all-season tires will make it quieter and grippier. My folks had an Accord wagon years ago so this feels like familiar territory for me.

During my freeway test drive the MID claimed I was getting 31 mpg, I'll be sure to let you know in the next couple days what my real-world MPG are. I'll be doing a 650 mile trip this weekend and I can then give you some detailed impressions

I drive b/w 40-50 miles to/from work, and I averaged just over 25mpg during work driving. Curious what you get on your trip, as I have a trip of 400+ miles in a month so I was going to see if I could get up to 28mpg.

9000revs - did you get the sport wagon? How is it working out for you?

I have 2 boys 4 & 6. Think I can squeeze an extra seat in there when needed, but am a little concerned about the cargo space. With all the angles, it's just not as useful as I expected a wagon to be. Should note that I did downsize from a highlander.

I do have a spacebooster which I'm hoping will fit, but it's going to be tight.

After having a 2009 Pilot and a 2010 MDX before going to the wagon I definitely have less space but the enjoyment I get driving this car even with the 4 cylinder along with the outstanding gas milage outweighs the space issue...
My kids are 9 and 11 and are fine in the back seat, yes there is less space but it's not like I'm taking cross country trips once a month. They're not sleeping back there so it's adequate for my needs in regards to leg room.
Because of the overall shape cargo room is sacraficed a bit but still plenty of room, being a working drummer and having to haul lots gear all over I have no issues.
I love this car, can't you tell?

Theres a guy on here w/ a wagon, lowered and the whole 9 yards, it totally changed my outlook on wagons. Its bad ass. If I recall its silver. I cant remember the owner but I think hes from canada... when you see his, you will definitely buy one
