Changing Oil on a 2010 TSX
Anyone change their own oil? Been changing my own for years and would like to change oil on my new TSX. Heard that there was a panel that had to be removed first. Anyone done their own? Thanks.
OBTW don't suggest I have it done. I have 4 vehicles that I change my own oil and use nothing but synthetic.
Thanks.

Page 417 of the USA manual shows that you have to remove a panel. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward.
Sucks that you need to remove a panel though. I plan on changing my own and using synthetic when the time comes.

Did mine in October.
You do have to remove the protective panel separating the oil pan/bottom of engine from the road. 7 10mm bolts hold it on.
Easy to remove, easy to do oil change.
The oil filter is a lot easier to get to than my last car (2001 accord).

Probably should have mentioned it's a V-6. Looked at the manual and it doesn't look too bad. Wanted to hear for someone who has actually done it. Once it's up on my ramps shouldn't be a problem to get the panel off. Thanks for the suggestions.

Didn't do it myself but...
I just brought my V-6 for its first oil change (5100 miles) to a local Valero. The tech told me it was pretty straighforward, no panels needed to be removed.
It appeared the drain plug was in the center of the car facing the driver's wheel and the filter was located in the center facing the passenger's wheel.
Ran me about 32 bucks fyi, I also updated the service record through 'My Acura.'

Yeah, I've always changed my own oil. but between disposal and buying the materials you're already at nearly $15 plus the time and getting dirty, so I don't even bother anymore. I just drop my car off in the morning get a rental from them for the entire day, come back in the afternoon after work pick my car up give em $30 and there rental back usuallywitha half tank of gas and drive my car home.. Definitely worth the $30 to me. lol :-P S
Also I'm pretty sure you shouldn't put synthetic in your engine untill after the first 10k miles or so, something bout engine break in or something
