Body Side Molding -- Worthwhile?

The recent thread on Splash Guards has convinced me that Splash Guards are a worthwhile option (thanks rockfish). Now I'm wondering about Body Side Molding ($199). Someone here expressed the opinion that the Body Side Molding was applied too low to be helpful. What do you think? Is it a worthwhile option?

While we are on the subject of optional accessories, what other options do you think are worthwhile. Thanks in advance.

I would pass on the body side moldings, there more for asthetics than anything. If you are worried about door dings, park in corner spots of far far away like me.

I would recommend the trunk mat & the mud guards which you already are planning on.

The side moldings do stick out pretty far but I agree that they are useless against an SUV. The height should help against cars like civics, accords etc.

That's my anti-ding protocol too. I find it most effective. Body-side moldings are useless. Look closely at cars that have them and you'll see most of them still have plenty of dings. The best prevention is to not let anyone's car get close enough to yours to ding it. Since most people are lazy and want the closet spot possible, park far away and take corner spots when available. DO NOT do the diagonal, take up two parking spaces thing - especially in a crowded lot. That's a surefire way to get your car keyed.

I have it. It looks ok but is indeed useless.
