1st gen did come with AWD in Japan.
2nd gen is still not released in Japan yet, so it will be interesting to see if they still offer an AWD version.

If they stick to the NA K24 engine, it won't make anything close to the STI and EVO. Anyway, the weight of the TSX makes it uncompetitive against the smaller cars because once you fit in SH-AWD, you're looking at a an additional 4-500 lbs.

mm true.
NA k24 engine is 205 hp with 164lb of torque
cuz the Cr-V and Element all share the same engine(+ various accords)
the tsx uses A2 of the K24(03-08)
they should put more power to it.
but it is still aggressive.
i guess if they did put a SH-AWD in the TSX, they can try to make the car 500lb less or the desired weight.
its a honda, they have the potential to unleash a lot of power.
imagine once honda brings a V8, it would scare the hell outta lexus.

If you take out 500 lbs from the current car, then nothing much is left... Stripped interior?

Also, Honda is not the ultimate brand where everything they come out with has the potential to "unleash a lot of power". Even Honda's best (NSX) had only about 300hp........ which is piss all in today's world. That's the same as the TRD Hilux.

in america the hilux is the tacoma right?
pretty sure, well it looks like a toyota prado.(rebadged lx 470)
whatever i dislike toyota.
well a lancer evo tenth gen, weighs 3517 lbs
and a tsx weighs 3345 lbs
172 lb difference, and you can make the tsx lighter w/o a navi, etc.
there is a way

Nah, the Tacoma is based on the Prado. The Hilux is a different chassis for this latest generation.

4.0L V6, supercharged, 306hp@5400rpm and 324 lbf.ft@2800rpm.
