Autoblog TSX V6 Review

Well said indeed. Still get excited when I drive my i4/6MT TSX everyday as well, going on 6 months with it. Such a fun car!

The following excerpts stood out for me in this review:
True, door should unlock when you pull the friggin handle.
Torque steer is bad enough on my 4cyl. Can't imagine it with 50% more torque.
So true, so true.
yes.
However, the user interface is starting to get long in the tooth both visually and functionally.
If there's one interior annoyance, it's the automatic locking mechanism. The doors of most contemporary cars either unlock when you put the car in park or when you pull the door handle. With the Acura (and Hondas, for that matter), only the driver's door unlocks, leaving the rest of the occupants to manually fumble with the door switches before extricating themselves.
Unfortunately, the mantra that torque is good and more torque is better is largely targeted at rear-wheel-drive cars, or at least front drivers that know what to do with it. Sadly, the TSX doesn't seem to fit into that category.
Which begs the question: Honda has a fantastic torque vectoring all-wheel drive system in every other model in its lineup, so why isn't it available on the TSX? This omission is truly unfortunate.
One of the few dynamic criticisms of the four-cylinder model was odd steering feel, particularly just off center, where the TSX exhibited a bit of a dead spot.

I wish the reviews of the V6 model would mention that, for 2010, the four cylinder model also receives upgraded steering for better on-center feel. For some reason, Acura hasn't promoted this, and even the sales staff at Acura dealers don't seem to know about it. I've driven a couple of 2010 with the I-4, and the steering feels great.

I got a V6 TSX as a loaner today when I brought my CL in for a SRS light service. Power delivery is great, the weight / distribution is noticeable. Not as nimble feeling as the I4. That aside, it's a great car. I just wish they would give it a proper 6 speed manual. Love the new rims. Looking for a set for my CL.

Yes I know, but what if i'm just dropping someone off somewhere? They should be able to get out by pulling the handle and not having to manually unlock or have me put the car in park.

By my logic, it is poor design.

It is aggravating for passengers to constantly have to unlock the "date rape" doors to get out. You can set the system to defeat the auto-lock function altogether & that way it remains open if you wish.
It does offer an extra measure of protection from car-jacking, though.
Then again, God forbid, if you were inverted & submerged, good luck getting out.
However, if you have kids or have other people's kids in your car, I'd rather not have to worry about setting the child locks in order to prevent them from accidentally opening the doors by simply pulling the handle.

Too bad there aren't more of the manual's around... heck I had to drive to Tulsa to get mine (a great dealer there by the way), since the 4 dealers in Dallas couldn't provide what i wanted.

I love how reviewers are all over the board.
Last year, power wasn't enough, and that was the biggest "downer" of the TSX.
Now that it has more power, they go back and say that the 4 Cyl Manual is the better deal.
Can the TSX catch a break?
